How do you book a party at local soft play centre?

Do I book venue first with a number of invites being sent out or do I wait til RSVPs are back then book for that number?

At my local soft play, you book first. On the invite it says to rsvp at least 5 days before party date... So the venue must not need to know exact numbers until closer to the date. I would imagine it is the same for most places x

We booked a few months before hand for as many as invites we would be sending, then a week before we gave the total expected number to the soft play. On the day they only charged for the actual number.

We booked the party, gave an estimate of invitations then 1 week prior to the party, gave them a better estimate based on rsvps. They only charged for total number of people who showed up.
