How do you formula feed on days out?

I've never done that,i just use tap water as i was advised to when i asked tons of question's.

if we're going out all day then i buy a 'ready to use' bottle of milk and just sterilise the bottles... if it's just for a short day out then i use drinking tap water, i have been doing this for a while now and he's never had any problems!

I take bottles with water that's been boiled in it and tubs which you can put the correct quantity of powder in with me.

My boys take their bottles at room temp so don't need to bother warming.

If we're only going out for an hour or so we make a bottle and take it with us (it's good for 2 hours) but if we're going out for a day we use ready to feed milk. Expensive but we only have to use it once in a while as we hardly ever go out for long!

I fill up a flask of freshly boiled water (stays hot upto 8hrs)
and fill up the tommee tippee milk powder dispenser and pop it inside a clean bottle.
and make it up and cool down when needed.

We bring a thermos along and add the powder when the water's cooled down a bit. A powder dispenser like this

makes it easy to store/pour right in.

I do exactly this. Pre-measure sterilized water in bottles and take a container with pre-measured formula powder. DD is used to taking her bottles room temp, so this makes it easy.

I take my tommee tippee flask of boiling water and milk powder dispenser and make up and cool down bottles as and when needed! I sometimes use the cartons but my baby girl doesn't like them as much and seems go dribble it out lol, plus they r much more expensive! Xxx

I also take a flask of boiled water with powder dispensers and make up and cool down as required. I've considered the cooled boiled water approach as LO will also take bottles at room temp but I am under the impression that making up with room temp water does not kill any bacteria that could be present in the milk powder as it isn't sterile although I also believe this risk is quite small. As LO grows and develops I shall probably adopt this approach but I'm too wary at the moment as he is still so young.

Yep you are right :flower: x

I do this too. LO is on cow and gate comfort milk so unfortunately nowhere near me sells that in cartons. If we are only going out for a couple of hours i freshly boil water, put it in a sterilised bottle and store it in a thermo bag as it keeps it really warm and i can just add the formula to water thats still over 70 degrees. For an all day trip i prefer the flask though xx

ive got one of those but the powder always stick to the exit hole..

i make up a bottle just before we leave it lat 2 hours so when theres haf an hour left il feed her. with it then use cartons the rest of the time :) but i make sure i feed her right before we leave xx

A lot of it? That happens with mine too but not so much that the powder is blocked. It happens since the water's warm and steaming a bit when the powder's poured in. I just clean it after every use so there's no build up. :)

Have a stockpile of about 5-6 cartons in, grab bottle out of steriliser, grab carton off shelf - go out. If I can get a cup of hot water to sit it in to warm it up a bit I do cos she prefers it - but she'll drink it at room temp if needed. I do get people commenting on the organisation that I carry a pair of scissors around to open the cartons like that's some miraculous feat.

My LO is on prescription staydown milk that needs to be made with either room temp or chilled water. Makes going out really easy as I just take the cool boiled water pre measured in the bottles with the correct amounts of powder in the dispensers. I use Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature bottles and the dispensers fit inside each one. It's great as they take up no room at all.
