So I am currently suffering from Thrush which is lovely!

Last month after we DTD I stayed in bed all night after sex to keep the spermies in but I think this is what has caused my thrush.

I am also prone to cystitus but thats ok at the moment.

So how long do you stay still for after BD?

Any advice from people who have already got pregnant is much appreciated!

I did what you did. Once we did the deed I went to sleep lol. No sperm leaked out. I went to the toilet in the middle of the night and that was it. It didn't cause me to get thrush, but I have had it before. It worked for me because I am 8+5! And just have fun having an orgasm helps too :)

Yes actually ive heard female orgasm actually helps to suck the sperm further up due to the contractions that occur. Although i personally find it easier to orgasm prior to, rather than after sex

i kept getting UTI's from keeping the sperm in me all night so now i just lay for 15 to 30 mins and then go pee to get it all out. my doctor also told me to drink a bottle of water before sex so after when we are done i will need to pee to wash out all the bacteria. i have been drinking more water and this month is the first month since ttc that i havent got a UTI :)

the antibiotics for the UTI kept then giving me thrush too it was horrible! just drink more water i would say and see if that helps!

It shouldn't be the sperm giving you UTI's if its kept inside of your vagina (different hole) and sperm is almost sterile, it's the fact of not peeing after sex to flush out germs when you could possibly have bacteria entering the urethra from fingers, penis, vaginal secretions or even bum germs transferred there.

Personally I lie as long as I can manage as I ALWAYS need to pee after :) so usually 1-2 hours max, but I make it quick and don't put my full pressure downwards (I lean forwards) when sitting on the toilet so not to 'force' the sperm out. It probably doesn't really matter much by then, I'm unsure? I've read that under the right conditions, good quality CM it can be as fast as 45 mins for the healthy sperm to reach their destination but who knows for sure.

I also get thrush and irritation from sperm, so usually don't like it in there too much but for the sake of ttc I don't have much choice in the matter :) I've just cleared up a bout of it and luckily, after a natural remedy treatment, was good to go when ov came.
