How do you make your bottles up?
I make a few 4-5 and let them cool and put them in the fridge and then grab them as i need them, obviously warming them up. Anyone else do this? Asking as midwife told me today im not ment to.

That's what everyone else I have known has done with their babies as far as I'm aware, but now they advise against it.

What my boyfriend and I plan on doing is boiling the water, and adding half the amount of water needed to each bottle and keeping it in the fridge.
Then at each feed you simply need to add the rest of the water (fresh boiled) and the powder and the bottle should be at a good temperature for baby, saves having to heat them up! We decided on this after a lot of research online!

Our of curiosity, she told you not to do that, but did she tell you WHAT to do?

I make 4 bottles at a time (because thats how many i can get in my steriliser) then put them in the fridge and use my bottle warmer to warm them up when baby is hungry! We've done this since he was born 5 weeks ago and hes been fine! :)

we wash and sterilise all bottles then have 2 thermos cans of boiled water one hot one cold then just make up as needed mixing the hot n cold to get right temp then in goes formula so always the right temp

After bottles are sterilised I make the feed up, rapid cool by placing the bottles in a tub full of cold water then pop them in the fridge... they're good for 24 hours. I then pop them in the bottle warmer as and when I need them.

I told my health visitor this, she said whilst she can't officially say it's ok - because guidelines say to make each one fresh which is so not practical - she said plenty people do and it she did it herself with her kids... no problemo!!!x
