how does HR work out the return date after mat leave?

hiya

this probably sounds a silly question but if you take your maternity leave on 18th Jan 2010 and intend to take the full year off, when would you return to work? is it the 18th Jan 2011 or the date that is exactly 365 days later?

It will probably be 52 weeks later (as your maternity entitlement is 52 weeks). So I think you're first day back would be Mon 24th Jan. But remember that you're entitled to take any annual leave you aquired during that year too, so for instance if you get 4 weeks a year, you wont need to go back until 21st Feb.
