Okay to non dog owners this is going to sound really silly!

We have a 3-4 year old rescue dog, a German shepherd collie cross. He is great natured but boisterous (in a playful way) and fairly poorly socialised. He is okay with dogs he knows and generally great with people, and he is amazing with kids (as in, he listens to them better than us and he plays a lot more gently with any kids he has met) but terrible with any other dog.

Anyway, I'm going a bit off topic. My dog is a "daddy's boy" and definitely likes my partner more than he likes me (my partner does the night walk and the morning feed!) although he does obviously really like me too. Since just before my bfp, he won't leave me alone. He goes to bed with me on all my naps, he lies beside me on the sofa, he follows me to the loo. He doesn't give me his toys to play any more, he gets a squeaky toy or a bone and amuses himself. He even walks beside me on the lead a lot better than usual!

Is it possible that he knows or can smell it or something? I'm 5+6 today so it has been about 2 weeks he has been acting like this. I swear he can.

Our boxer will be 2 in August and is more gentle with me now. He sets his head or paw on my belly every now and then and gives me this long stare lime he knows something lol. With that said he is definitely more attached to hubby than me.I could never figure out why

I have a blue pit about 1 1/2 and he has been getting on my last nerves lol just really annoyed with him. I believe he knows...

I'm a dog trainer so work with dogs everyday and I've noticed most of my usual clients dogs seem a little different around me. They just seem to be very interested in my stomach area and want a lot of fussing over. And most of the dogs I work with aren't usually like that. Normally just want to give me a hard time. Can't judge it on my own dog as he's always been really clingy and needy, couldn't get any worse even if he tried lol.

I am not a dog owner but cats owner - so yes I believe that they can sense something. My 2 years old cat always sleep with me or sit with me.

I think it totally depends on the dog, 1 of mine doesn't care least, another has become very overprotective, and the last is very stressed when my todder cries (always first thing in the morning). But none are really clingy but their sheepdogs so might show more unusually traits.

I have a 2 year old male Chihuahua. he has always favored me over my husband. im 9 weeks with our first & for the past 3 weeks or so hes been extremely protective. hes always been protective but its noticeably more now. all my husband has 2 do is walk towards me & my dog will go nuts growling & barking trying 2 attack him lOl its even worse when im eating & husband walks by me (but this might just be because he wants my food lOl) I think some dogs can tell.

Since the last time I posted on here he has been even more clingy. What does worry me is that his last owners had him taken off them by the rescue charity, and I'm a bit scared it was because the woman had a baby and then neglected the dog. I have been away overnight for work and the dog has been sleeping on my seat on the sofa rather than his own and lying at my side of the bed, but has been getting my oh to play rough with him a lot.

My dog is quite sensitive I emotions, if I am crying he always sits on my knee and licks my face, if we have an argument the dog always goes sit with me rather than my partner which is strange as usually he loves my partner way more. It is amazing how intuitive they can be!

He also reacted differently to this pregnancy than my ectopic. That is really strange!

I am a bit worried about how he will react to baby though.

I dont have a dog but next door do and when I see her she is always playful and wants me to throw her her toy she is a beautiful big black labrador ...but now when I call in she nuzzles into my tummy and sits next to me with her head on my lap.. her head wont move off me.. my neighbours are not aware of my pregnancy but their dog obviously knows lol.. its lovely.. and when I am smoothing her when her head is so close it gives me a fuzzy warm feeling... magical how animals can tell.. neighbours will understand why she has changed towards me in a few weeks time :D
