My nausea is JUST starting to go away, enough for me to not cringe at the smell of everything and to actually eat here and there.

I'm scared that I'm not eating healthy enough (salads, meats etc) and its gonna affect my baby. I just envision pregnant woman to always be eating carrots and random fruits and vegetables whereas all I can stomach is junk for now.

I'm 12w2 days now.

How healthy are you eating?

Ugh. Awfully.

I'm about 10 weeks, 5 days and I'm just starting to feel human again but not really. Things are still very touch and go. Even my cravings slip away quickly (last night I NEEDED to have a McDonalds cheeseburger and we went, and I couldn't stand the smell and ate two bites).

A couple of weeks ago, I spent a couple of days eating only cheetohs :(

I'm trying hard because I've discovered that caesar salad is the bomb no matter how I'm feeling. And cucumbers are amazing. So I'm going to try to always stash some really good salads in the fridge. Even if I only nibble once in a while, it's gotta be better than what I've been doing.

I've dropped about 6 lbs since being pregnant (142 now) and my doctor mostly just wants me to get some sort of sustenance rather than nothing. But I don't think that's an excuse for the fruit roll-ups I've been chowing down!

My "go to"s:

-Fresh fruit, especially peaches!
-Digestive cookies
-Salads
-Fruit roll-up :(
-Froot loops :(
-canned mandarin oranges

I can't stomach a lot of beef. It's horrible. :(

I think as long as you're getting something, especially water (I am not - I need to drink more), the baby is taking whatever it can.

I'm mostly eating pretty healthily but I am one of the lucky ones who mostly escaped morning sickness. That said, I'm eating far too many crisps. Poor baby will look like a crisp at this rate but given the ridiculously long list of things I like eating/drinking but now can't eat/drink I am going to keep eating the crisps.

Daughter number one loves crisps though and I can't help but think this may be related to all the crisps I ate whilst pregnant with her! She loves fruit and veg too though so I must have done something right ;-)

Don't worry, your baby will be fine. A lot of women find they can't eat as healthily as they want to at this stage because they still feel icky but at 12+2 soon you should be feeling better :)

Not great I'm only 9 weeks and 3 days so morning sickness is currently at its worst I'm lucky if keep toast down all day I'm drinking as much water as I can although that's not always staying down I can't eat meat it's all turning on me I do love fruit though. I've lost half a stone really need to try and eat more

I'm glad I read this coz I'm 6 weeks on wed and I'm a carb monster at the mo!!
I really want to eat better but feeling icky means carbs, bisects, ice pops, popcorn rubbish right???

I do eat actual meals but they are hardly as they should be and it's hard for me coz before bean I was ultra healthy I'm guessing it's what my body needs right now until the icky ness goes

When you're feeling rubbish you just need to eat whatever you can. Only eating toast & cereal (for example) for a couple of weeks won't do you or your baby any harm - at least you're eating something! If you're taking a preg multivitamin then you won't be missing out. I'm just going with my body at the moment & anything that's sounding good, I'll eat! It'll get better. Hang in there mama :hugs:

I'm allot more strict this time. Last time I ate whatever.
I went back vegetarian but this time I'm staying full vegan the only thing I'm changing is more fluids.

I am usually an extremely healthy eater but been struggling in both pregnancies in the first trimester. My diet is very limited at the moment, mainly eating toast and cheese, pasta and similar. I think as long as you take your vitamins it is okey and a normal appetite often resumes in the second trimester xx

I'm eating pretty healthy. I had gestational diabetes with my last pregnancy so as soon as I found out I was pregnant again I started eating better. I'll have the occasional bad food, but most of the time it's healthy lower carb stuff. I know I'll probably have GD again this time around so might as well eat better from the start :)

Honestly, not gonna lie... Like total and utter crap! Lol! All I crave is fast food and ice cream :( the thought of a salad makes me want to vomit :/

I'm almost 10 weeks, I eat whatever I want but I have no appetite and a lot of food/drink aversions. I've also dealt with sickness so far which has resulted in me losing 10+ lbs so far.

MS hasnt really hit me hard yet.. I've ben eating fairly well... eggs, meat, grilled veggies, sandwiches... lots and lots of water and my homemade jamaica/hibiscus tea, which I've been putting ginger and cinnamon in.. it really helps.
Last night I ate leftover mashed potatoes and meatloaf with a bunch of ketchup and I had the worst indigestion and acid all night and woke up this morning still burping it.. tmi lol... but you all probably crave 'junk' because of the salt, which is perfectly fine... I say eat whatever you can keep down... my mom ate lots of that cheap instant ramen noodles with me, and I'm not a ramen lol

I'm eating fast food and carbs. It's awful. It's primarily because I don't have the energy to find better food. I'm a little sick, but not terribly, I'm mostly just exhausted and I'm sure if I ate better that would help with the energy lol... I need someone to take care of me! I wish hubby didn't work so much.

I was eating so healthy, before I got pregnant and up until Week 7. Now, I can't even look at a banana without gagging. Mac and cheese and french fries, repeat. Mac and cheese and french fries, repeat. I'm so sick of it. I really miss my daily salads, vegetables, normal food! Only a little while longer, hopefully!

Hang in there! I buy the organic versions (Annie's brand is my favorite) of junk food. I at least feel a tiny bit better about eating it.

I was super healthy before pregnancy, never touched fast food, ate very clean/organic. Pshhhhhh now I'm 9wks and have had severe MS vomiting 24/7..... I eat whatever sounds good at the time, and its def not salad or veggies.... Usually it's salty fries, chips, or crackers ..... Lots of cheese and pizza .... Ice cream.... I eat an occasional banana or apple and that about sums it up.... Not much else than that for the past 5 wks .... I feel like complete crap from it too, but if I try to force myself to eat grilled chicken or spinach salad I literally vomit in the middle of my meal. It just doesn't go down :( everything I loved hates me!!! I was obsessed with hummus.... The sight of hummus mkes me dry heave.... I can only eat meat in a taco form.... No other way .... It's redicilous :(

lovemyboys-- that is hilarious!! I feel ya on the bananas also.. I can literally smell them from across the room ...

another chore that is getting passed onto husband: taking out the compost. it literally smelled like vomit today, and it lingered for hours it seems. my sense of smell is like a bloodhound now, and everything smells bad

Eat? Healthy? Ha ha. Ha ha ha ha ha ha!

I wish I could. I'm lucky to eat at all.

Finally discovered I can tolerate eggs for the most part. I keep them down, and they aren't terribly unpleasant to throw up.

FWIW, after this experience with HG, I found out the baby WILL ABSOLUTELY get what it needs from you regardless of what you eat. So eat what you can, when you can. Let the guilt go.

I did relatively well in first tri. My second trimester hasn't been good. I start the day out well but it always ends badly. Tonight's dinner was pizza and a pint of Ben and Jerrys. Lol

My diet is amazing...if the following are healthy.
Cookies
Ice cream
Fat coke
Toast with butter and cheese spread.
Pizza
Indian takeaway
Chips
Super noodles
Steak and mac n cheese

I think the healthiest thing I can stomach is coco pops... And that's only because of the vitamins they add in. Xx

I am also a carb monster at the moment. Pasta, potatoes & bread seem to keep my nausea at a minimum. I don't feel hungry & don't fancy anything although I did have a strong desire to eat marshmallows with melted chocolate the other night (but didn't!) When I eat it's not much due to being bloated and already looking 9 months pregnant!!!
