How long after losing your mucus plug did you go into labour?

Hi Ladies,

I have just popped over from third tri as I was wondering if you could help me? I lost a big chunk of beige coloured mucus plug this morning around 10am (sorry for TMI) I just wondered from your experiences how long after losing your plug did you go into labour?

1st - never lost it
2nd - as above
3rd - that morning
4th - over a week before
5th - was losing it on and off 2 weeks before

it can be different for each person and pregnancy, u can lose your plug and your body sorta remakes it......... i have known some ppl go weeks after losing the plug. Sorry to be a downer,
it can also be within a few days

lost mine just before lunch, contractions started about 4pm, baby born about 30 hours after that.

Thanks ladies, mine had no blood in it! Is it when it gets blood tinged that you're close to labour!?

I got really excited when I saw it but am also feeling scared!!! Xx

I lost a big chunk on my due date 2 weeks before went into labour, and I didn't have a bloody show until after my waters broke when I'd been in labour for about 6 hours!
Try not to get your hopes up as I thought after I lost my plug that things were going to move quickly and I was waiting two weeks

Was losing bits of mine on and off for nearly a week, then noticed it was bloody when I was having contractions (spent days hoping braxton hicks were real contractions, then when i was having regular contractions that i couldnt stay still with it didnt occur to me they were the real thing!!)

Yeah I think it's when it has blood in it that you can take it things are hotting up. I lost my plug 7am in the morning - my waters broke, bloody plug came out and contractions started all at the same time! I thought I was in for an easy ride - ha! 34 hours later.... lol.

i lost my plug at 11.30am. waters broke 5 minutes later. arrived at the birthcentre at 12pm. ella was born at 1.37pm. and i was home for 5.30pm. i had no contractions before this. just backache. 2 hour labour and it couldnt have gone any easier. lucky i guess xx

I had my first sweep on Monday, lost my plug Tuesday and wednesday, had a second sweep Thursday and gave birth Saturday

Dont get your hopes up! I lost mine around my due date but still ended up being induced 2 wks over
