How long did it take you to get pregnant with your first?

saw gp around 1yr wasnt helpful then at 2yrs i got some tests thats it really

I've decided after this baby is born I'm not touching hormone based contraceptions ever again.

I will use condoms or the pullout method and if another pregnancy occurs then it'll just be a happy yet early planned baby. I am NOT going through what I had to go through with that implanon again.

To those who are patiently waiting to hit their 1 year mark to get fertility help, I would advise you to go with your gut and lie/or push for an earlier appointment. I knew after trying for 4 months that something wasn't right...I told my family doctor that I was trying for one year he referred me to a FS and within a month I was diagnosed with PCOS and then consequently conceived on Clomid.

Yes, I know it is hard to distinguish between lack of patience and something in your heart telling you there is a problem, but there is nothing wrong with getting help too early, you can always put off the treatment they suggest until you feel you have 'tried' enough.

its taken a month with all three of mine.... hoping will be as lucky with number 4.

It took us 16 Months, miscarried at 5 weeks in April 2012, and then got pregnant again 4 Months after that with a sticky baby in August 2012. We were JUST about to have our first appt with a infertility Dr. and we got pregnant 2 weeks before our appt.. Crazy how things work. Hubby got tested and nothing was wrong with him. Assumingly nothing was wrong with me either. Normal periods my whole life exactly 31 days apart. I think we just had timing issues.

I agree, bend the truth.
A year is far too long to be left without answers or help

Now i really do wish I went back to the drs earlier ... 12 months wasted!! :(

Fell pregnant on my 3rd cycle after coming off the pill, but miscarried and it tok 2 years from them to have fall pregnant with my son. We have some fertility issues though so that's why it took us so long x

No, no please don't feel like that. You know what is right for you...there is nothing wrong with waiting patiently...god knows it has worked for so many others!!!

Not 12 months wasted
12 months closer to your bfp :) x

I had that, in my arm, no period for 3 months and then long irregular cycles, never again x

I knew something was wrong our third cycle in and pushed my MW for testing and a referral to an RE. We did not wait a year to see an RE and we ended up having both male factor issues as well as my issues. My gut just said something was wrong.

I waited a year to see a gyn about having trouble but she was very discouraging and told me that the problem was most likely with my DH since I am young and healthy. She only wanted to do a SA on my DH to confirm and didn't want to do any tests with me. So, I waited until we switched insurance a few months later and went directly to a FS. He did tests on me and DH and found that while DH had a low sperm count, I also had some problems (not ovulating all the time but having AF and low progesterone when I did ovulate). I got pregnant after 21 months of TTC with IUI and Clomid and now I'm due soon with my b/g twins!

It took us 18 months to get pregnant. We went to the OBGYN after 11 months, and then began to see a fertility specialist. We had numerous tests done, tried Clomid for two cycles, and then finally on our third round of IUI with injectables we got our BFP! :) It is possible!

Took me 3 years to fall pregnant , no idea why, had a lap and dye , 2 weeks later I got my postive x :)
