How long did you have to stay in hospital after your planned section?

Spain, three days :) Like an OP said, I couldn't have imagined leaving earlier, but mine was emcs so I don't know if that makes any difference? I think it's just standard here.

U need to stay at least 48 hours after your c-section. I was induced Friday, EMSC Saturday afternoon and home Monday afternoon.

I was in for 4 nights with my DD (EMCS) as she wasn't feeding properly.

This time I had an ELCS and was in for 3 nights. Catheter was removed next morning, blood pressure monitored regularly, wee output monitored for 24 hours after catheter was removed. I can't imagine leaving the next day as just standing up to go to the toilet almost made me pass out! Honestly, peeing shouldn't be such a challenge! The 3rd night was because DS had urates in his wee and he was a bit yellow so they wanted me to get him hydrated properly, which is fair enough. I probably needed the extra night myself anyway for pain relief!

4.5 days with my first (emergency) and left on day 3 after my second (planned).

I was in the hospital 2 days. C-section was Wednesday night, and then Friday afternoon we were allowed to go home. I kept pushing to leave, and that was the earliest my doctor would allow.

When I had my son I stayed 2 nights and 3 days... my consultant this time has said they will discharge you the next day now aslong as there are no complications. Fingers crossed as I hated being in for 3 days last time and was more than ready to go home the next day x

My C-section was unplanned but not emergency I just couldn't get passed 6cm. I delivered via C-section 11/18/12 with no complications and was discharged the morning of 11/22/12.

I had my baby Friday afternoon and was told I could go home Monday lunchtime, I ended up staying until the Tuesday simply because my baby is prem and I needed a breast pump at home, and Tuesday was the next working day after my section and the earliest they could deliver it. So about 72 hours I needed to be in? I had quite heavy loss this time both during and after surgery which concerned them and they ran repeat blood tests to check all was okay.

Last time I had an EMCS on the Wednesday afternoon (was in since tues afternoon being induced) and they let me go home Saturday night. (Got home around 9pm) this was UK.

This time round I'm living I'm Germany and having an elective and have been told they advise you to stay in for 7 days! (Not including day you have baby!) you HAVE to stay in for atleast 48 hours after birth. When I was discussing not wanting to stay in 7 days the lady was basically trying to scare me into it saying usually the ones that go home before the 7 days are the ones that end up coming back with infections etc. I plan on staying atleast 3 nights and then see how things are going.

My first section 13 years ago was emergency and u was kept in for 5 long days lol but back then 5 days was protocol for section women and 2 days for natural births.

Second was planned and stayed 3 days...again protocol for section women 6 years ago.

Third 2 days as I was doing well and had done it twice before. ..was lovely being home so early ...my next one I dont know as it will be my 4th so im not sure on that one x

I had a c section in Canada in March. It was done at 3pm on the Friday and I left hospital at 11am on the Saturday morning. So a total stay of 20 hours!

The pain was grim but I had to get out of there! ( note, I wouldn't really advise this but my circumstances were difficult. We had a stillbirth and they weren't able to get a bed away from new moms and crying babies so I just wanted to get the heck out of there)

That said with this pregnancy assuming all goes well I now know I get manage with a short hospital stay!!

Also congratulations and tons of safe baby dust coming your way hun... When are you due? X

Thank you so much! I think it's going to be a bit of a white knuckler of a pregnancy but so far so good, and if I just try and take one step at a time I think we can get there! Due march but I will be delivered feb by the looks of things.
The girls on BnB keep me sane! And my OB is awesome so I'm very lucky :)

I'm in the UK and was told by my hospital that you are normally in for 2 - 3 days, with 2 days being more common unless there are any issues.

I had my DD on July 9th by Elective c section & was out the next day. To be honest, I wish I had stayed in as I was in lots of pain & was borderline anaemic & nearly passed out, but my hubby was a great help with DD1.

With my second caesarean I was out the next day. I was determined to get back to my eldest!

I stayed one night last time and then discharged myself. You always have that option.

My first csection was 3 days (unplanned), and my 2nd csection(planned) 9 weeks ago I was in the hospital for 36hrs total. From start to finish it was awesome!
