How long did you wait?

Hi I had a c section two weeks ago...and was just wondering how long people gave waited after a section to have sex? I'm going on the pill in a weeks time and will be covered for contraception...but am longing to be with my partner, we're still intimate together without intercourse but it just leaves me wanting more....

I am 7 weeks post partum and we still haven't. Only because we were waiting for me to get my IUD. (Didn't want to use condoms as we are both allergic to latex). But we have done mutual masturbation and oral sex. Just no intercourse. But I got my IUD yesterday evening, so now I'm just waiting for him to come home from work

Thanks. Out of curiosity did it all go okay that soon? It will be three weeks once I'm on my pill properly etc and really want to try but I'm worried about my scar on the inside. Did you get any pain etc? Xxx

god after major surgery 2days later i would barly walk nevermind sex

Wowzers there's a lot of variation there...I'd go for it now but oh wants to wait til im in the pill again which is day 21 and even then I'm nervous it'll be painful..and v conscious of my body now and my scar x

I was worried about that too but dont worry. ive had 2 infections on my scar since the birth and it hasnt been sore but sometimes when oh has touched the scar directly it has been a bit painfull but if he doesnt touch it its fine.

as for your scar you will get used to it. your oh wont really notice it after a while. you have to look for it to find it, unless your tum is complently flat

Yeah I hate that I have an over hang but it does hide my scar at same time. Not sure what's less attractive the big belly or the big cut lol. Lose lose situation really haha x

Fair play! I wish I had recovered that well. I'd have happily gone home the next day but was very afraid of my scar. Even now it's healed I'm still very careful and cautious about it. Silly really x

Goodness me, it does sound pretty unbelievable!! I'm surprised a hospital would even allow a discharge so soon.

2 days after, I was in agony, still had IV's, could hardly move and the thought of sex or more children had been obliterated from my brain!

It took a week to be discharged from the hospital, the pain was still severe and my walking difficult.

It's now been 4 1/2 wks, and while I feel physically ok, the thought of having sex is out of the question.

I still have frequent internal stabbing pains and my scar is just starting to look healed up. The bleeding has just now tapered off, even DH mentioned that he couldn't quite imagine having sex, for fear of damaging the fresh scar.

I think it will take another month or so for us.

2 weeks for us! Was a little painful when pressure was on my belly, and was sore for a few days after!
