Sorry im new to this just switching from breast to formula.

Baby is taking up to an hour to drink her bottles. Shes having 5 or 6oz bottles at a time.. only 1 or 2 a day at the min but trying to get her on formula exclusively gradually.

Do babies normally take so long to drink a bottle? Is it just cos shes not used to it? She only takes 10 minutes to drink from the boob so im not used to sitting around for so long! :coffee:

Millie is 7 weeks and take 30 mins to drink a 3-4oz bottle.

When Jordan was younger she took forever to drink a bottle. I started looking into it and it seemed most babies took much less time. So we worked on trying to get her used to different teats. She did much better on a medium flow nipple by 3 months and a fast flow nipple around 4 1/2 months I think. She takes maybe 15 minutes to finish a 6 oz bedtime bottle.

( it was taking an hour before to drink 3-4 oz)

Well mine only drinks 2 ounces at a time but 10 minutes unless she is tired and sleepy. We are size 1 nipples.

That is kind of a long time. My lo takes about 20-30 minutes to drink 4 ounces at the moment and that includes burp time lol. I'd try the next size up in nipple.

I have a guzzler and he can down a 6oz bottle in less than 5mins. He's always been a speedy eater though. I use variflow teats due to comfort milk

In the early days, it could take over an hour including winding time and that was only with 3oz bottles too. It gets quicker as time goes on. At 4 months (almost!), Anabelle will finish a 7oz bottle in 10 minutes and is very easy to wind.

Good luck,

Kirsty x
