how long do you plan to bf?

as the title says, how long did you or do you plan on bf for??? this is something i have really been thinking about of late, i origionally only planned to bf for 6 weeks but when i am having a good day i feel like i could do it for longer, obviously on a bad day this all changes lol i only managed to bf my first for a week, so i'm feeling quite proud of myself at the mo lol although i do still have the odd day where i find it really hard.

im bf twins so everyday is an achievement for me lol i am determined to make it past 3 weeks as thats how long i bf dd for. i would love to bf for a yr but i dont know how things will work out when the twins get a lil older, im hoping it will only get easier. every day i bf atm is like a mini milestone so im just seeing how it goes

I had originally wanted to get past 3 weeks, then 6 weeks etc but in the back of my mind I didn't think I'd ever go past 6 months. Now I'm nearly at 4 months and it's so easy, I can't imagine stopping soon so I'll see how it goes!

I originally said I'd do till Christmas which was 8 weeks. When we got going I was pretty sure I wanted to carry on for longer so I did. As time went by and 6 months was fast approaching I just decided to carry on as I loved it so much and it was just so easy. Now I want to get to 12 months and ideally carry on nursing both (if she still wants to) when this new one is born

Landon I really didn't have a set time frame, just knew I wanted to nurse, never thought about how long. Casen I wanted to go for atleast 6mo, but preferably 12mo, he got to 11mo when he self weaned because he was sick, he just refused and never wanted to again. Hayden I wanted to get him to atleast 18mo

I found the 6 week growth spurt hard, but Im glad I didnt stop, its so easy now! Dunno when I will stop.

self weaning is also my goal but in the beginning each week was an achievement, i very nearly threw in the towel a few times! Im so so glad i stuck it out though.

I have the idea of around a year in my head, and I'm thinking that around that time I'll cut down to just night time feeds and then see how it goes. My Mum had 4 of us and we all stopped a couple of months either side of a year by ourselves so hopefully Sofia will choose when's right for her.

like alot of others i didn't think i would make 6 weeks initially! im not sure now, we are kind of TTC and dont want to leave a big gap between next baby, i have not had a period yet tho so will see how long that goes on for, if still the same in a couple of months will prob stop, tho i cant imagine not feeding him now! xx

I hope to feed till LO self-weans. I'm hoping to make it to two years. Fingers crossed he'll have nothing but breastmilk till 6 months, possibly 8 months.

Self wean for us. Cant imagine saying no more to him when its wat he is so used to. Hoping it cuts down to a couple of times a day when he approaches a year tho xxxxx
