how long do you plan to bf?

I'm not too sure yet. Definitely to 6 months old, and then I will to 12 months just letting her have less feeds and more solids! Depends though whether she decides that biting my nipples is fun, then we might have to wean :)

I said I wouldn't go past 6 months.. but I have. I'm going to continue until she selfweans.

I've always aimed for 12months.

Lauren was 12months and then I stopped to try for another baby, we got pregnant straightaway:happydance:

Abi was about 14/15months.

Toby was 9months, I had to stop feeding him as I was pregnant with Erin formally known as Smudge:haha:. I was getting really nasty cramps each time I expressed or breastfed and have a history of miscarriage and prem-labour so I stopped when I was 19wks pregnant as I didn't want to risk losing Smudge. It was a really hard decision and I really beat myself up over it....I still do sometimes but when I look at Erin, I'm pretty sure I made the right decision....I wouldn't have forgiven myself if I'd lost another child:cry:

Erin is 6months and we're still going strong:thumbup:

Good luck:hugs::kiss:

I have never set a time limit on our nursing, I just knew I wanted to nurse him as long as I could. We are still doing very well at 14 months, and my son is a total booby-o-holic. I am doing my best to be patient in getting him on solids, though it is frustrating at times as he is very picky about what he will eat. Even once he is eating, I will still nurse him till he has decided he is finished.

Well my original target was 6 weeks but were nearly at 6 months now and were still both enjoying it... I'm going to replace her day feeds starting next week but keep the morning and bedtime feed for as long as we both enjoy it i think...

With my daughter, my original target was 6 months. But when I got to six months, she still seemed so little and it was so easy, that I set another target for a year. At a year... LOL she STILL seemed so little, and it was still so easy, so I said 1 and a half. When I got there, I said 2. She self weaned at 21 months, which I think was quite a good age.

So for my next baby, I plan to feed until about 21 months for equality! I don't think I want to go over 2, because I think it'd be a battle with lots of tantrums to try and stop after that if the baby didn't want to self wean.

It's been so nice to have my boobs back to a normal size and wear underwire again... another reason I don't want to go over 2 years with the next baby.

I'm not breastfeeding but I want to try and express for as long as possible. Seeing as I intended to FF from birth and we've had an awful lot of stress with him being poorly since he arrived which has affected my supply every day of expressing is a milestone for me. I'd love to get to at least 6 months but I don't think I'll manage it.
