Hi ladies,

I had a mmc and had a surgical removal on 12th March. I had very little bleeding/spotting at the time but about 5 days later I was in severe pain and started bleeding quite heavily. I went back to the hospital and was put on antibiotics in case I had developed an infection. The bleeding lasted another 5 days or so but I am still spotting quite a lot.

Today I am having bad stomach cramps like the :witch: is coming but I know this is not happening.

What makes it worse is that I just did another hpt and it still says I am pregnant (of which there is definitely no chance!).

How long does the bleeding/spotting last before my body can get back to normal? It feels that I can't get over the mc as my body is still confused!

Aw hun, sorry, as if you haven't been through enough already.

I bled for 15 days after mine which was part natural, part D&C. Towards the end it wasn't constant and I went for quite a few hours with nothing (making me think that was it over and done with) only to start again. I also had some spotting at the very end and the past week or so have been spotting again (4 weeks later). It is all so confusing.
Can't say I had stomach cramps at all but did get the odd unusual pains which I put down to things moving back into place so to speak.
Considering you were put on antibiotics due to pain and heavy bleeding I would probably make another appt with your GP and get checked out just to be on the safe side, could be the course you had wasn't quite enough to clear it. Not sure how soon is considered normal for your levels to go back to normal, I did my first test 4 weeks after m/c and was back to normal.
There is always the possibility of retained products hun and I really hope this isn't the case for you but if it is you need to get it sorted as it will only get worse and take your body and you longer to heal.

Do take care hun and let us know how you get on, will be thinking of you.

Sorry posted twice in error. Was trying to attach a link for you that has more info about how long it took others for their levels to go back to normal

Loubylou2, I'm so sorry to hear of you loss.

I had my ERPC the day after you & have had quite a similar experince.

I had three bouts of very painful heavy bleeding with clots & even some grey tissue coming out, the last of which was just over a week ago. Since then the bleeding, gradually got less and less, I thought it had stopped today, but it's still there a bit. I'd class mine as spotting now as a panty liner catches it ok. I've also been on antibiotics as a precaution, but the reason they gave me for the prolonged bleeding was beacuse I had a few internal cuts in the uterine muscles from the procedure (found this out on a scan last monday)

Anyway, my HPT's are still positive too, but slightly lighter than two weeks ago. It;s so frustrating isn't it?

Have you been to the hospiatal since the op?

I feel the same way as you, like my body has lost the plot!

thanks Dan-o and las

I'm sorry to hear of your losses too.

When I had the severe pain, I went to the hospital and they examined me and said all looked ok, but I didn't get another scan to make sure everything had gone - just gave me antibiotics and sent me on my way.
I did have some large clotting when I was in a lot of pain - I assume that was my body getting rid of anything.

I was thinking of leaving it another couple of days and then maybe go to the docs or hospital just to check. It's just hard when you don't know what to expect isn't it.

Good idea to see how it goes for a couple of days hun then get it checked, see how you go.

I agree, it is really hard when you don't know what to expect, it's like one minute you know your body and the next you haven't got a clue about it, I often feel very out of control at the minute as though my body is on a mission that I know nothing about. I have to say though being part of this group has really helped ease a lot of my anxiety though.

Take care x

Hey ya.

So sorry for ur loss, i had my miscarriage induced on 12th march same days as u; And at beginning wasnt much, as soon as i got home woooo i had few lil accidents where i was so heavy soz if (tmi) I think i passed most of everything at hospital so thats why they havent ask me to come back for a re scan even thou for peace of mind i think i will as few girls on here have been so helpful and said if dosent calm then go back!! My bleeding got lighter and some days none at all, but im now like a tap on/off and just wish it would stop so i can wait for the dreaded 1st cycle and then get back to normal if there is that ??? As we really would like to get trying again; its madness what this does to our bodies and i guess everyones different so i suppose only time will tell; but if u are still bleeding in wk 3 maybe pop back to docs or ring ward u were on for advice as thats what im going to do jus to mind at rest.

Hope all goes ok and hpe u have some good news really soon

Take care

Rachy xxxx

So sorry for your loss, i had a natural miscarriage on the 11th march, passed everything on that day, took it to epu and they examined in and was happy i'd passed everythibf, So went home i only bled on the 11th and 12th on the 13th i just had brown discharge, so me really ony 2 days and even then it wasn't severe bleeding, once i passed everything on the wed night the bleeding calmed right down, So i do think everyone is different, Sorry your having such a bad time of things xxxxxxxxxx

take care

I had the surgical removal as well and my bleeding lasted for around 10 days. The bleeding was a lot less than I thought it would be. There was a lot when I went to the toilet for the first time after and then it was like a medium flow period for the rest of that day. Then after that, it was really light and went into spotting. Then I had a couple of days where I didn't have anything and thought that it had all stopped but then it started again and when it started again, it was heavier than I'd had the whole time, apart from the first day. My pregnancy tests were showing positive for around 2 weeks after as well but the lines did start to fade from about 5 days afterwards. Then they got fainter and fainter until it was a BFN. I suppose it would depend on how far gone you were as to how long the bleeding would last. If your tests don't start getting fainter, then I would go and see your doctor again xxx

Hi ladies,

Well, yesterday I was going to phone the hospital to see if they could help me as I am still having cramps on and off. But found that they had left a message for me to call them back so did and was told I had a molar pregnancy  don't know at this stage if it is full or partial, they never really told me much over the phone.

I have to wait until Monday now to find out what it all means, so am a bit confused. This has hit me hard as I was just about coming to terms with having a mmc and hoping to try again soon.

I know it's bad but had a look on the internet about molar pregnancies and am now really worried about the consequences of this :hissy: Just feeling sad and angry at the world at the moment

Oh my goodness, so sorry to hear that loobylou2 :hugs:

I'm worried this could happen to me too, I have the same symptoms as you!

Thanks Dan-o

I was told that any tissue that is removed during d and c gets tested by histology/pathology. At the time they said it could take up to 4 weeks for the results.

I would just give your hospital/doctor a call to see if the results have come back yet, just to ease your own mind and hopefully they can tell you.

I'm still in shock as I was not really thinking about this, was just hoping to try again soon. I hope you have some good news soon as I know you have been going through it as well :hugs:

Oh my.. So sorry Loobylou2:hugs:

I hope everything works out and you can start to move on from this terrible ordeal. Is there anything they can do to help with the cramps?

not that i would wish any of this on anyone else but reading what you all have been through i don't feel so alone with trying to come to terms with my molar pregnancy, thankyou all xxx:hugs:

Really sorry to hear your news. Hopefully it is not as serious as you think xx

Just thought I'd give a quick update - I saw the doctor and was told the molar pregnancy has still to be confirmed but if it is, it is a partial molar. I have to wait about another 4 weeks for this as it has to be sent off somewhere else for confirmation.

On a more positive note, I am now testing negative and this means that if it is a molar pregnancy, I will only need to be tested for 6 months to check all is well before we can start trying again.

I have finally stopped bleeding (5 weeks post d and c) and the cramping has stopped but I am still a little upset about everything although I am getting better each day - now i am just waiting for the witch to come - oh the joys!!

Hi Looby Lou2 I was sorry to hear of your situation. I am glad you are now testing negative and things seem to be moving on. I have my fingers crossed that it still comes back negative.
Continue with your bravery and strength and I am sure it wont be long before you can try again.
