I went cold turkey & am wondering how long milk takes to dry up?

I suppose everyone is different, but would be good to get an idea :flower:

Am glad you posted this, as i am in the process from moving from breast to bottle! So will await answers! I am expressing a little twice a day just to ease the pressure and rock solid boobs and this way she is still getting a little breast milk! I am not emptying them tho just taking 2oz!

are you expressing or just stopped?

I went cold turkey when I stopped feeding Zane as it was too painful.

It took 2 months before I started to feel normal there again but saying that I never stopped leaking colostum for some reason and zanes two

I quit cold turkey after 2 weeks of BF and it only took 5 days for my milk to dry up.

i went cold turkey 8 months ago, i took, some sudafed (the orange and red packet) as told by my hv and it dried up within the week (believe me if it dried me up it will dry anyone, i was a blinkin dairy cow!)

Has anyone found that there baby was sick more when drinking formula? Sometimes Charlie can throw up a whole 3oz feed! she was never sick when bf?

I never really got started on bfing but i did try, including some expressing for about 3-4 days. Stopped completely after that and it took about 3 weeks before the leakage stopped. Got through a lot more breast pads than I thought i'd need anyway!

Didn't find it too bad - only discomfort was about 2 days of rock hard breasts - back to not being able to sleep on my stomach again!
