Hi ladies x Just after a bit of advice. We have a 2 yr old girl who will be 3 in December and a 3 week old girl. It took us 16 months of TTC for #2 (I had been on Depo and think it sort of messed with me). Anyways, both of our girls were born via c-section and if we are blessed again I think I would need to have another section so just wondering how long I am supposed to wait to start TTC? Have read a few different things so just want to make sure. Also, do any of u know what could happen if I got a BFP relatively quickly? Thx to those who reply x

Your doctor will definitely have the best advice regarding your body and recovery from your most recent c-section! Once you've been given the a-okay from him, the rest is all up to you and your OH! Good luck!

I was toldby the Doctor to wait 12 months after my c-section before TTC in order to significantly reduce the risk of rupturing the scar. I've since read various things on the internet that say there's actually a very low risk of this happening if you don't wait 12 months, but we've decided to wait the 12 months to give us peace of mind. Also, I think it's advisable even without having a c-section to give your body 6-12 months to recover between pregnancies so this has helped us in our decision to wait 12 months.

Your doctor might have a good idea on the healing process, but usually 6 months is considering the minimum healthy time for anyone to TTC regardless of delivery method.

I hadn't heard about 12 months, but I suppose some people's c-sections take longer to heal than others.
