I seem to have totally forgotten! My little girl seems to sleep all day, I think she has been awake for about half an hour since seven this morning?

Congratulations :)

Hm I can't remember :haha: I think she slept most of the day, although she was definitely awake more than 30 minutes a day (by this point in the day). She's nearly 4 weeks now and today has been awake about 3/4 hours total today!

Is LO waking for feeds?

For the first 3 weeks my DD was only awake to feed, otherwise she slept all day.

My little one still sleeps most of the day at almost 4 weeks old. Hard to say how often she's awake for but it's definitely not for long.

Thanks all and thanks for the congratulations Natasha, it still doesn't feel real!! She is waking up for feeds and then going straight back to sleep! She was weighed today and is still at her birth weight, I just don't remember Megan sleeping this much!!

DD was awake a lot as a newborn. Right from the start she liked to lie on her back and kick her legs and interacted for 30 mins or more at a time, several times a day. For the 1st 6 weeks DS only woke up for feeds. He would feed back to sleep most of the time. Sometimes he'd stay awake for an extra 10mins. Some days I barely saw him awake. So I think it varies a lot. There is no need to worry unless they dont wake up for feeds, in that case its good to keep an eye on it.

Sophie was either asleep it nursing as a wee newborn. I don't think she ever lost any weight and put on 600g one week!

Congratulations on your new baby!

Mine slept a lot when he was few days old! Sometimes I'd even wake him for a feed by taking his clothes off etc... At 4 weeks now he a lot more awake and alert but still has moments. Like yesterday he slept from 1pm to 6pm only waking for a feed by stiring around and I would feed him whilst he was still asleep then put him back down.

Congratulations lovely! :happydance:
