How long to wait before getting pregnant?

I'm a little confused now. Are we talking about waiting 18 months before TTC? Or are we saying there should be at least 18 months between births? If the later, then I agree. It wouldn't be too long to wait 9 months and then get pregnant immediately (if you're so lucky) which means you'd have the baby 18 months after the initial C-Section.

I was told !As a general rule, you should probably hold off on trying to conceive again for 18 to 23 months" its just what i was told...dont shoot the messenger :)

Im no Doctor. I got pregnant 3months after my c section. Obvously I dont know what will be the outcome. But for reasons i am not going to go into " waiting 18months isnt to long" for reasons it was better for us and 1 person around us to be around for this now. And i dont regret my dicision i do hope everything turns out okay.. i am super worried now but i dont regret it whatever happens.if you can wait then wait xx

Honestly Hun, please don't worry :) I'm a year between csections and no complications. If you are scared, request a consultant appointment :hugs:

Personally I see the 18 month rule the same as - don't smoke, eat only fruit veg and whole wheat, exercise a hour daily - type of advice. All good well intended advice and probably accurate to live a perfectly healthy lifestyle but most everyone doesn't follow all the guidelines and most everyone is still happy and generally healthy.

My point is a guideline is just that and not going with it does not mean a certain issue. Just as following the 18 month rule doesn't guarantee a successful vbac either.

Are you planning a section or a VBAC for your next delivery?

welll my plan is book a section after 40 weeks instead of getting induced. but otherwise atempted a vbac im aware my chances are slim lol x

This was actually a question I had for my doc. After this LO gets here we are NTNP. I dont really want to wait to long after LO gets here to see what happens. Then after that I am getting my tubes tied.
