How long can a bottle be used for?

Normally ava takes a full feed and thats her for a good 3-5 hours depending, But today has been really fussy, 2oz here 2 oz there bit later, etc. She im hoping is back to normal tomorrow since she did a dirty nappy this evening, but when that happens how long can a bottle be used for?

and i mean.. you make one up.. she drinks a bit.. half an hour wants more.. an hour wants more.. etc.. how long is it safe to sit and wait at room temp? ive just been making new ones.. but if its safe for say up to an hour then ill keep the one made instead of chucking..

I *THINK* Its between 1-2 hours MAX, but I wouldn't leave it after that anyway just to be on the safe side :) ! How about if you just make like 2 or 3oz at a time? That way your not wasting a full feed and if she wants more you can just grab another! Thats what I used to do when my bub only took about 1oz at a time for a day or 2. She was back to her normal fatty self in no time  xxx

1-2hrs max I think.. TBH I didn't follow that when she got to be older though, when she got to be a few months if she only took a couple sips and then was done with it I put the bottle in the fridge with a cap on it.

We are off bottles now but as long as the house wasn't kept particularly warm I would let them go for up to 2 hours (in a cool room) and 1 hr anywhere that was warm at all... During the summer no matter where in the house we didn't keep them past an hour ever tho. I did the same as Tasha too though with putting them in the fridge sometimes too and then just warming them, never re warmed more than once though

On the tub it says you can keep it for 2 hours maximum but I usually only keep it for an hour, just to be on the safe side :flower:

On the tubs it says 2 hrs - but thats if you make it and dont actually start the feed. I have heard that it is when baby starts the feed that the bacteria starts to build up.

If baby has already started the bottle, I would bin it unless it is finished within the hour.

half an hr if she started feeding from it. this is whats written on the tin

I think it says an hour on the tub, bt to be honest I gave my son the rest of his bottle as well when it was over an hour. I wouldn't give it to him after 90mins or so.

See I would not go by that personally because when my daughter was born she'd feed for 45 mins from a bottle at a time

30 mins is defo a bit too short. It took Joe defo longer than 30 mins in the beginning to drink his bottle.

Sry, I didnt mean while feeding. I meant left after he finishes feeding. My LO still takes 45 mins to finish his bottle. But once he's done & there r left overs, it should not be left for more than half an hr if u'r planning to give him the remaining milk. This is what our GP told us & what's written on the tin.

Oooooh really? I need to check my tin what it says on it.

everyone says ' whats on the tin ' but then everyones quoted different times... theres only like 3 kinds of milk here.. are they all giving diff guidelines?? should really be the same for all shouldnt it..

Ok, I just checked the tin again now. it says, "use made up feeds within 1 hr. always discard any unfinished feeds."
