How many 'bad' foods are you eating?

Oh, the ramen woman :winkwink:
I haven't been eating any worse than before, and I don't think my eating habits before were all that bad.
We have pizza about once every 2-3 weeks (we have a pizza night chant!) other than that... junk? I have a crave for kettle chips, but I have a bag at home for when I actually WANT to eat them. I carve a ot of things but when the time come to actually eat them, I get all nauseous. I've cut down on caffeine, but instead developed a crave for ice coffee, which I drink almost every day.
What do I want that I can't have? A poached egg. A salmon bagel. I want a salmon bagel SO much. I used to have one at least once a week before, so this is tough. :(
A sip of wine every now and then, but that's like once a month and a sip. I never was a drinker before, so that's not a big deal for me.

I'ms till eating brie but it's supermarket so not like it a cheese specialist where it's matured for a long time and festering.

I can't stomach cooking meat and with OH away means unless I eat out I don't eat meat. Not really cooking much from scratch either. Can't stomach ready salted crisps which I lived on last time but loving meat crisps.

No alcohol for me tho. Plus have eaten some dippy eggs. No sushi so that's fine and can't stomach teas so don't drink those and hate coffee anyway.

Tbh there's so many things I have done in pregnancy that I could blame for any issues it's not worth over thinking. Such as, maybe the meds I'm on have caused issues. Maybe flying in first trimester. Maybe over eating the amount of tuna, or daring to eat some cheese or dippy eggs etc. Maybe using cleaning products. The list could go on so to pinpoint one specific thing seems a bit silly.

It's kind of funny. And stupid to stress over these things. I'm in another forum where all the women are completely paranoid, but in that "I'm just being really responsible" way. Bleh.
A woman was looking for a fun activity to do with her husband on his birthday. I suggested a bike ride and picnic. Response? "My doctor said that riding a bike is fine, as long as you don't fall. How can I risk that? I'm not getting on a bike".
GEEZ LOUISE. Seriously. Better wrap yourself in extra bubble wrap before you step into your plastic uncontaminated bubble.

I still drink tea and the ocasional latte, my coca cola intake has probably gone higher due to cravings.
Hotdogs, the tinned kind..
I've stayed away from prawns and sushi though! And I'm really funny about cooked meat anyway n I've are a few hot dogs which I thought were only just about done! I would have made them a bit more well done personally!

I also don't buy into the whole 'don't eat this or that' thing. I think if you're fit and healthy with no real health issues, foods aren't really a problem. The only things I'm avoiding are meats that have been in the fridge for a few days and strong coffees. I'm having one coffee (instant) per day and a bottle of soda every now and then. I've eaten cream cheese and sushi and been just fine.
I just think about all the millions of women who have been pregnant and never had these limitations and everything was fine for them...

All I want in life right now is pate but I have so far resisted the urge, even when oh had it for a starter when we went for a meal a few weeks ago!! I just keep imagining what I would eat it with!

Last time I really missed pâté, but I was pregnant over Christmas so it was everywhere. Haven't even thought about it this time!

does anyone know if we are allowed to eat deli meats in UK? I've never heard of not being able to eat deli meats, i've been eating them from the beginning, so ham, chicken etc, the ones yu buy in a packet from supermarket. Thanks x

mine is just been fast food. I've been craving fries lol. I do most of the time go and have subway most days at work, but there are days I'll go to McDonald's. My doctor didn't like it when I said yeah I've been eating fast food, but I told her if I'm keeping it down, I'm good. I've lost about 8lbs since the beginning of my pregnancy, and haven't gained any of that back.

I have coffee every once in awhile but I've actually been doing good on the caffeine front compared to when I was pregnant with my son. I worked at a restaurant when I was pregnant with him so I drank alot of coffee. Most of my caffeine comes from the tea I had through out the day, and maybe my once in awhile Dr. Pepper because I'm tired of Sunkist or Sprite.

I can't stay away from my subway and find my self always craving a sub... yummy lunch meat :) Also a grocery store by my house makes amazing Greek Salad with feta... and well, I've had it a few times

They "recommend" not to because of the SLIGHT (soooo slight) chance of the meats containing listeria (which I have never researched). Microwaving takes care of that, but really I just haven't been listening and still eat mine right out of the package! I'm sure it's the same in the UK, too, from what I've read.

As a worker in a deli shop I will say this, though: It's not the meats you should worry about, but how the slicer is cleaned. I clean ours VERY well, but I'm not always the one cleaning it and sometimes it can still look a little...meaty. It's kind of gross working behind the scenes but I thought I would give a head's up! Any place should be using safe cleaners on food surfaces, so that isn't the issue. It's just the amount of cleaning that is done to it.

I always have a BLT sub (usually 6in unless I'm working a longer day) but I tell them to only put a few slices of bacon on it as opposed to the 4 the usually put on for a 6inch. Then my bad food I have with it is cool ranch doritos (love those lol). I actually couldn't even have subway early on in pregnancy. I had an aversion to it. But after I hit 2nd tri I tried it again, and now I crave it. (Did with son too).

Yes, no recommendations against it in the uk, so go for it.

I basically eat what I want.... No alcohol... Don't smoke... And I don't eat seafood of any sort.

I am guilty of soda... Snacks... And greasy foods. But baby will only absorb what it needs and leave the fat for my thighs. Lol

Oh and I am a potato-a-holic... So it's basically a daily part of my diet... Chips, fries, mashed potato, baked potato.. Omgosh...

Recently I have been eating a volcano roll from our local Kroger grocery store everyday. But it is made that same day and only has imitation crab and shrimp tempura, so it's all cooked.

I do heat up my deli meat in the microwave. It still tastes good. And I have had the occasional Greek salad with feta.

My main thing has been not taking my prenatal vitamins. I have has so much trouble with constipation from taking zofran for morning sickness, that I think the prenatals make it worse. Should I make myself take them everyday?

OMG. lol I have to laugh at a lady who won't ride a bike because she's preggo. At that rate she shouldn't ride in a car either because she could get in a accident. With that mentality we should all just live in a bubble until delivery so we don't expose ourselves to anything. :nope: Good grief.

No terribly bad food habits, but I have had more jelly beans and chocolate in one day than most people have in a week. Just trying to finish the bag then I promise I;ll stop

Diet coke every couple days and a couple of runny fried eggs. That's all though so very im well behaved (maybe not I'm just a fussy eater so don't eat most the against recommendations foods anyway!)

Lovely confessions, ladies! Thanks! :flower: Glad I'm not the only one... We can all be bad together...:haha:

I agree that 'bad foods' probably aren't a big issue, though, as long as done in moderation all the way. :happydance:

I had Ramen noodles again today (they come in so handy when there's nothing in the fridge), but instead of using the seasoning packet I seasoned it myself with Sazon (non msg) salt, olive oil and sriracha sauce, and it tasted just as good! Don't know why I didn't do that before. I felt better after eating it (emotionally), I guess because there was less guilt or something, lol.

Thanks ladies!

Don't feel guilty about things you eat, or don't eat!!!
People have done much worse and stayed healthy and alive.
Worrying about that stuff is just not worth it!
