How many mums have had more than 2 csections?
I've had 2 and we want a 3rd, how many csections are too many?
How many can your body handle?
Just wondering if theres anyone out there who have had more than 2 csections and what your experience was! Thanks!

Hi

I am sure you will be fine with a 3rd. I am having my sixth, yes 6th on the 14th May at 39 weeks.

My bladder was damaged during my fifth as is firmly attached to my womb and sits higher than normal so they didn't see it until it was too late. Consultant hasn't had much to say about the number of c-sections I have had, only asked, when do I plan to stop!

i will be having my 3rd section early june. Not had any known problems with the previous sections so im hoping this one will go smoothly x

I had my 3rd c section nearly 3 months ago and it went very smoothly

6?! oh man! lol congrats on your soon to be new addition!! have your csections been close together or a good distance apart? My aunt had 2 csections in 11 months and then another 2 years later, ended up with AWFUL scar tissue, endo and recently had to get a hysterectomy

I see from your tickers that you're two youngest are close in age...and you're csection went well? that's awesome! I guess i'm afraid of scar tissue and all that causing a problem. I've also had kidney surgery when I was young, and have a C-section looking scar about an inch under my csection scar, so scar tissue down there really freaks me out that it'll cause a problem

both my csections went smoothly as well, and no complications after which is good. congrats on your soon to be new addition, and mum of 3 boys! have 2 boys myself

Yes, 6!! Wow 11 months apart that must have been hard.

Mine were 1996
2003
2005
2007
2010

And my 6th the will be in a week.

All pregnancies problem free, yes I suffer with terrible sickness and heartburn from very early on until baby is delivered but once he/she are delivered both disappear almost immediately.

Bladder damage during last c-section, consultant doesn't seem at all concerned. I haven't put on that much weight so they say that is a good things as I am slim. They will enter via the same scar in the skin and slightly higher into the womb to avoid the bladder as it is firmly attached to my womb. Entering higher can usually mean more bleeding which I was worried about incase they can't stop it but they have said I lose very little blood so that is not something they can see happening. Yes, there are risks but I am trying to be positive and not worry to much.

Hi,

I will be having my first C Section in September. But my mother had 3 c Sections with me and my sisters and she says the second 2 were absolutely fine, but the first one was an emergency, because my sister's heart stopped so her scar is quite big.

I'll be having my 4th mid June. I asked my ob how many is too many and she didn't say anything. Said it all depends on how things heal, amount of scar tissue, etc

I am having my fourth in June. I had one in April 2007, March 2010, and October 2011. In my second pregnancy I had slight accreta but the placenta ended up coming out easily, so no worries:) serious complications are rare with csections. I'd say a third baby is safe!:)

i will be having my 3rd in end sept/early oct,my 1st was emergency,2nd elective(was advised to) :)

I have had three. And the third was my easiest recovery. The operation itself took a bit longer and they had to staple me shut rather than stitch since the skin there was tough and the stitch wouldn't hold. Because of er envious scarring I guess. But it made little difference to me.
I think three is enough for me. I had three very easy operations and recoveries. I wouldn't want to push my luck.

Every pregnancy is different, so it can be hard to weigh up the odds.

I just had my 3rd section, im 3 weeks pp. I decided to be sterilised at the time of the section. 3 children is enough for myself and hubby, plus im 30 and the docs here do not advise mlre than 3 sections.

My last section was in 2006, and this time found im finding the recovery much much harder.

Glad to see people doing well with multiple c-sections. I'm pregnant with number 2 and most likely will have a c-section. I doubt DH and I will have more than 3 children.

My sonographer has had 3 c-sections, and all went well.

6 is incredible! I had never heard of that many! Good to know it's possible!

I think 2 csections are more than enough for a mom to deliver a baby. IF a mom has stamina she can take a risk for another csection but it may be risky so always try to avoid another csection and deliver a normal baby.

i've had 2 c-sections. First was an emergency section, 2nd was an elective due to going over EDD and baby was small. i really wanted a VBAC. I would love a VBA2C if i was to go for a 3rd but - yeah...

I don't think that after two sections they like you to deliver "normally" for fear of rupture while contracting.

I had three sections, the last being my easiest recovery. Bt for my body I feel three major ops in one spot in enough. I have had three good experiences and don't want to take another chance. After all, there is so much more to lose now should anything go wrong. Three little people really need me! :)

I had my 4th in November last year. As long as there is not a medical reason to stop you. Do what makes you happy. After all you reasonably know your body better than some dr.

I heard one of the Kennedy's had 11 C-sections in a time where you had to do verticle ones.
