How many cycles of Clomid are you having/allowed?

Just wondered, I read lots on here about people only being allowed 6 goes, but I've had 6 and I'm having at least 2 more.

My FS said that id be on 3 cycles then review back at the hospital then 3 more if i need them then if it dosnt work after 6 cycles theres a slim chance id get any benefit from taking them! He said itd then be a 6 months break which he said can sometimes be the most successful part if the clomid fails then onto IVF/ IUI. I have seen you had a mc which im really sorry to hear about i cant imagine how you feel, maybe because its worked for you they might want to try a couple more in the hope itl work again sorry i cant be much use but i Hope this helps! I have been give 4, a friend of mine did 11 clycles though... it did not work for her, its meant to work in the first 3 cycles 80% of the time, so they don't waste too much time on it after that as far as I know, depends though did you ovulate on all cycles? It has wored for you before so i guess it can work again so keep on with it!! Baby dust x

Yeah I did get pg on the 2nd round and I've ovulated each time so maybe that's why they are letting me have more! I was concerned that everyone seemed to have 6 goes but my fs said it was licensed for 6 attempts in the 60's when it was new and she's happy it's safe, and certainly safer than not ovulating! Hopefully my next round will be successful!

I was given 6 months by my FS and when she sent my follow up letter to confirm everything we had discussed it said after 6 months I could opt for ivf or 6 months more of clomid. xxx

My FS only allowed me to have six cycles. (Been waiting since Friday to see if this sixth and final cycle has worked.)
