we're on about 4 feeds a day, 5 if we're home. what i like to call sleepy feeds about 630 when she wakes up, after breakfast a small one, if we're home she'll have a little feed to get off to sleep about 230 but thats a comfort thing more than food. Tea time and bed time.
Just morning and night is the only time my babies have had milk (breast or bottle) once they're 12months plus. They usually have a cup of water on standby if they're thirsty in the daytime.
Tabitha's still having quite a few, think just depends on what you want to do. Think i feed her 3-4 if we go out a but when i'm at home its maaad, so far today she's had like 6 already
Brenn still nurses loads, but he isn't really on solids yet either. He just is not into them no matter what I try to give him or how it is given, solid, mushy, hot, cold, spoon, hand. Oh well.
from 12 months onwards we have just done morning and night. She is 15 months now. She wont drink milk anyother way, no cows milk, pushes it away. lol
But hey i love it anyway.
I don't think 6 is too much As I've said before we had alot of problems with solids and Hayden so at 12mo nursing was still his main source of food, he didn't have 3 meals until around 14mo. So he was nursing 6-8 times a day, sometimes less, but he nursed through the night too, didn't sleep through until 15mo. At around 14mo he cut down some as he was having rice milk during the day in a sippy which meant he didn't have to stop playing to eat so he was doing that more than nursing. I guess around 15mo he went to nursing once in the morning, right before bed and one other time during the day
Right now we do about 3 feeds throughout the day. Morning, late afternoon, and right before bed at 9pm. Like the others have said, she drinks water out of a sippy during the day (all day) if she gets thirsty. We're also starting to transition her to cow's milk, so she has about 2 ounces cow's milk and 2 ounces breastmilk (expressed) in a bottle/sippy a day. Usually with her lunch.
Erin's not quite 4 months old and only has 5 feeds a day, she's not on solids yet either.
Caitlyn is obviously comfort feeding as you said she's breastfeeding 6 times, eating lots of food an drinking 1.5litres of water in a day. It all seems a bit extreme, are you slightly overeggagerating
