I am very curious to see how aggressive my fertility doctor is being with my follistim (Hfsh) injections.

He currently has me injecting 75 IU on CD6, CD8 and CD10 and possibly one more depending on how tomorrow's ultrasound looks.

Can anyone else tell me what your fertility doctor has instructed you to inject and how often?? I have a feeling I am injecting a lot!

Tomorrow is CD10, I will be going for an HSG and follicle check. Will update on how many follicles they see. I am not sure if he will be able to tell me for certain because CD10 seems kindof early to know which follicles are growing and how many will continue to grow.

I fell pregnant with my LO on IUI (presumably, also progressed naturally that month), but I never needed follicle stimultation, simply sperm transfer as close as possible. Although the injections may seem agressive, sometimes they are needed for follicular development. Have you spoken to you FS as to why he is doing so many? He could clear up any concerns you may have. GL!

I am assuming he wants to increase the odd's of me conceiving. I know when I don't take any medication I produce zero follicles. When I take just Femara (pills), I only produce one follicle but most of the time it doesn't drop even if it's the right size. I know he wants more than one follicle but I am not sure HOW many he wants. Grrr, just scared to have too many.

Hey hun i stimed for 15 days.I was on 50uis a day.I stimmed for soo long because i did not rest.Rest is sooooooo important hun.Feet up when ever you can.It helps the follies grow:)

Every woman is different and I'm sure your FS is tailoring your meds based on your body. This cycle, for me, I stimmed with 150iu of Menopur for 11 days starting on CD3. It just all depends on how your body responds. I'm sure your FS knows what he/she is doing, just ask questions if you're concerned. :flower: Good luck!

Ok, Wow, thank you for the response!!!:thumbup:

I thought it seemed like a lot, but from what ya'all are saying maybe it isn't that much at all! :dohh:

I'm sitting on pins & needles. Valentines Day will either be filled with awesome news or horrible news.

Thank you gilrs!!! Will post tomorrow's outcome!!!:dust:

:hugs: he wants to increase your chances by producing more than one follie! It increases your chances the more follies there are so don't worry. The only drawback is you could have a double or triple blessing! Nothing wrong with that :haha: x

Had my HSG & Ultrasound today!! Both went well. HSG showed that I had no blockages or abnormalities. As for my ultrasound, I have 3 good follies -- today is CD10 and their sizes are: 17.93, 14.34, 14.45 and one extra one trailing behind at 12.48 (probably wont drop). I have one more follistim injection tonight and I am suppose to trigger on Wednesday EARLY morning CD12. I am hoping she is timing this right and these follies actually grow to be big enough. I am not having any more ultrasounds and my IUI is on Thursday. SOOOO unbelievably nervous. AHhhhh!

Try to relax, as hard as it may seem! I was so nervous and I found that my nerves came from the fear that the IUI would fail and I'd be so disappointed. I remember laying on the bed and mentally egging the sperm and eggs on. I was telling myself over and over again for them to swim as fast as they could and get that eggie! Well it worked, mind over matter sometimes! Just don't give up, today's disappointment is tomorrow's blessings in disguise :hugs:

Good luck! 3 or possible 4 good follicle is great!:happydance:

I took 50mg Clomid on CD2-6, then Puregon (follistim) 100iu injections on CD6, 8, 10, 12. I produced 2 follicles but did not get pg.

Am on same protocol this time round as well.

Thank you for the dust :)

What size were your follicles when you triggered?? I am scared this doctor is triggering me too soon. I think 18mm seems too small, or at least was in the past anyways. I know that one 17.93 will be big enough but those other two will only grow to about 18mm maybe. Hmmm, I'm not feeling so optimistic this month :nope:

Follicle grows 1 or 2mm/day, so 18mm sounds fine. Anything over 19mm is considered mature I think:flower:

I don't know how big my follicle were when I triggered. I only get a scan on CD12, and depending on the size that day, the doctor decides when to trigger.
Last time it was around 15mm at CD12, and triggered on the evening of CD14, and IUI at 12:45pm CD16. I ov'd sometime between the night of CD15 - morning of CD16.

Hi PCOSMomToOne,

My doctor has me on 150 iu of injectables on CD 9, 11, and 13.

Try to relax... as much as you possibly can. Good luck!

I injected twice per cycle, on cds 7 and 9. I used Bravelle and idr the dosage. With just the Femara I'd get like 1 good size follie, with the injections I had 2 or more.
