my daughter is 2 weeks old and is taking 7 bottles a day with 90mls (3 oz) at a time but is draining the bottles. I know from experience when they drain the bottle you should put it up but it seems a lot for the size of her (she was 6lb 4oz when born and is roughly 7lbs now). She only spits up a tiny bit after it and sometimes doesnt spit up any. Should i put it up? She is going 3 -4 hours between each feed no problem (even at night).

I would say offer more. I know what you mean about it seeming a lot. We were giving Ruby about 60ml 2 weeks, the HV actually laughed when I told her! She was soon drinking 120ml.
Sounds like you're doing really well :)

lol my 3week old is on 4-5oz! Just put more in, if she wants it she will take if she dont she wont. shes proper cute btw

mine is on 5oz and she is just over 2 weeks. i feed her what she wants when she is hungry. x

mines 4.5 months and still only on 120mls every 4 hours, i wish she would drink more, she must have a little tum!

My baby is 11 days old and eats 3oz every 2 1/2 to 3 hours. I think it depends on the baby.

Yep I'd say keep offering her more because you don't want her draining the bottles really. I was told if babies drink too much they'll just spit it back up again, so don't worry about her getting too much....she'll let you know!

I'd give her more because my mw's and hv's have always told me that you can't overfeed a baby and just to give them what they want so to speak x

my baby is nearly 3 weeks and weighed 6.9 and is over 7 now and i was wondering the same as she's just started taking 4 oz and i thought it seemed a lot for such a little person, but i guess they only take what they need.

James is 2 weeks old today. We offer him 4oz per feed now because he was draining 3oz. He will take roughly 3 and a half ounces. You cannot overfeed a small baby because they will just sick up what they don't need.

just offer more, she'll leave it if she doesn't want it! Maybe a growth spurt or something is on the way!

That said..my son wa on about 125ml of formula at 2 weeks + EBM! Although he ws on about 80ml in the hosp...and he still lost weight!

If she needs more, she needs more, regardless of what anyone says!

My two week old is on 4 oz every 3 to 4 hours. She's a big baby (over 9lb now) and 3oz was just not enough. HV today said to up it to 5 oz if she appeared hungry after feeds but she seems happy on 4oz.

Carter was 7 15 when he left the hospital 8 3 when he was born and now at 2 weeks and 3 days he weighed in at 9 15 today. He has been eating 3 oz and was fussing like crazy after so i upped him to 4oz today and he seems to be going much longer now as he was litterally wanting to eat every hour and a half. The doctor told me today that if i feed him to much he will be fat and actually said not to feed him until its been 3 or 4 hours i personally dont plan on starving my baby if he is hungry. I totally thought that 4 oz was soo much at 2 weeks good to know other people have the same phew.
