With my DD I had OH and my mum, this time I want OH, maybe OHs mum and my sister. So I might want 3, is that ok or would they not allow it? X

I can only speak for what I know from our hospital, which is 2 people in with you in the delivery room. The birthing centre lets you bring more though.

Same with the hospital I delivered at, strictly 2 people x

I'm pretty sure everywhere it's two people only xx

At the 2 BIG NAME hospitals in US i was at, you can have as many people as you like during delivery, within reason, unless it is a cesarean (surgery), then only 1 person allowed in. All day and night is fine for labor and delivery. But then, during recovery phase, only 2 can stay overnight after 9pm visiting hours end in "recovery", and they cannot be under 18 if they do.

Well our hospital usually says 2. I was took to be induced at 11 am and my mum couldnt get out of work until 2pm so my OH and his mum were there. mum turned up about 2:30 and everyone stayed until my baby was born at 1:13am! It was never mentioned that anyone had to leave, think it just depends on the midwives at the time!

Only 1 allowed in our hospital but I only wanted DH there so that was fine. Next time we're having a home birth and will just have DH and possibly LO there.

The hospital I delivered Taylor at was limited to 3 (but they let me have more if I wanted since she was a stillborn).

I can't remember if it was 2 or 3 when I had my 2 kiddos. I only want dh in there again anyway so I'm not worried about it to be honest.

I think it can depend on the hospital. I'm sure my hospital has a 2 person only policy, but I do know people who have had an extra person with them during the birth, so I guess some places aren't as strict? xx

I think in the Uk they tend to be quite strict about numbers, and it'd usual to just allow two maximum. I haven't had this situation myself however, as I've only ever wanted OH there, might be worth asking your midwife at your next appointment.

I had 3 first time and 4 the second time. At first they had to alternate but after a while the mw didnt mind x

My hospital says as many as I want/will fit in the room lol. Last time I had just DH, this time I'm having DH and a Doula and its undecided if we'll be having my parents bring DD in for a while, I guess we'll just play it by ear.

The hospital I delivered DD at I was allowed as many as I wanted during labor but only 3 during the delivery. For my DS, only 3 allowed and for this one the hospital allows as many as I want as long as it doesn't impede access for the medical personnel. I'm planning to have a doula, DH and my dearest friend. I asked both moms (my mom and my MIL), but my mom gave excuses why she may not be there and MIL thought shed be in the way and wants DH and I to have that time for us.
