Hey ladies (And gents!) I was just curious about how much people spend a month on their babies?

I'm starting to look at the cost of nappies formula and wipes etc :)

I'm hoping to Breastfeed for as long as possible but i'm 50/50 on how that will work out

Would anyone mind doing me a lil' break down of how much you spend on wipes, nappies etc? :D

Thank you xx

Diapers ( we buy the extra large box) and try when on sale $23.00-$33.00/2wks
Formula ( my milk never came in) Enfamil A+ $42.00 refill pack/2 wks
Wipes, $9.88 large pack of 6 or refill bag
Typically $160.00/month Canadian for diapers/wipes/formula
=105.13 Euros??

Per week:

Pepti formula: 25euros
Comfort formula: 14 euros
Nappies: 7.49 euros
Wipes: 1euro (we buy a pack of 6 for 6 euros)

The formula is expensive because he is CMPI.

*scratches head* don't think we buy anything else on a regular basis...

My lo is 8 months now, so we don't use as much as when she was newborn.

I use water wipes: 1 box of 540 wipes=$33.00 and I use about 1 and a half boxes a month

Pampers: 10 changes a day. A box of 103 diapers is $25.00, so about 3 boxes a month; altho I have some left at the end of the month so one month in several i'll only have to buy 2 boxes.

My lo had to have a hypoallergenic formula at $300.00 a month

Then I buy rash creme $10

If you bottle feed, there is the initial cost of bottles, but after than you'll probably just need to purchase teats every 3 months.

I have to say that it's a lot more expensive than I thought it would be. Before I had her, a lot of people told me that babies don't need much, but I've found that they actually do. Or maybe it's just that I want more for her LOL

This varies so much for different people. I believe to a certain extent babies cost what you want them to.

Formula. £10 a week. My dd doesn't drink much so I've only ever needed one tin a week, some babies go through a lot more. I tried breastfeeding and wasn't able to.

Nappies. I buy pampers in bulk. Roughly £5 a week I would guess. Some people prefer cheaper brands but I find them a false economy as they leak or don't hold as much so you use more.

Wipes. I use about a pack a week since we started weaning (don't need so many for the poos now but a lot more for cleaning her up. I get packs of 4 huggies for £3.50. So less a pound a week.

Now she's on solids obviously her food costs too. She's not on jars so has some of what I have in for us so I can't tell you how much I spend on her meals but I spend about £10 every 3 or 4 weeks on special baby crisps and snacks etc.

Clothes. I don't buy expensive and I don't buy lots. She has enough for 6 days of clean clothes at any one time. I spend about £80 each time she needs the next size so every 3 months roughly. I don't buy second hand because I don't like pink and a lot is pink stuff for girls but you can do cheaper of you get second hand bundles.

Bath products, nappy creams, medicine, miscellaneous. About £10 a month. A lot of that sort of thing only needs buying every few months though.

Toys. I buy a few new ones every couple of months but don't go overboard so maybe £15 a month.

Then any big purchases like new car seat, highchair etc.

£27 on nappies
£9 on wipes
£40 on clothes (averaged as prob around £130-150 every size change)

I don't buy formula but prob spend and extra £20 a month on food to satisfy my appetite

It really depends month to month on what I buy for him, but generally -

Nappies - We use cloth, so unless I buy a few new nappies, we don't spend anything.

Wipes - I buy a bulk box of 12 packs of wipes for £9.50 & that generally lasts us about 6 weeks.

Food - We BLW, so lo eats what we eat & I also breastfeed, so no additional costs there.

Clothing - Again, it depends if I see anything cute, or if lo has outgrown his current clothing, or if there is a need (ie-snow/cold weather gear). In the last month off the top of my head, I have spent about £50 on clothing, mainly because we are going skiing & lo needed appropriate clothing for the snow.

Toys - He has enough toys given as gifts to last him a few years, so no need to buy anything any time soon!

On average I would say that we spend about £30 a month on lo, but some months it can be nothing too.

I stocked up loads before she was born so not too much really.

We are probably using about £50 worth of nappies a month, £15 on wipes, £7 nappy cream.

I breast feed but sometimes give formula when we are out its 89p for as mall carton and £11 for a big box which we still haven't finished. Breast feeding definitely makes it cheaper.

And we probably spend an extra £100 plus pounds a month on clothes and stuff even though we already have far too much stuff I just live buying her stuff :)

I go through a tin of formula every 4-5 days so I'd say £35-40 ish on formula. That's my biggest expense by far.

I go through a pack of wipes a week, get the bulk boxes or look for offers. The first few weeks you won't use them but they are handy to have in.

Bubble baths etc... A bottle lasts a month so say £3 for bath stuff.

Nappies. I get the aldi ones (would recommend them to anyone!) and a pack of 56 is around £7. They last me around a week.

All in, around £50 a month. We budget £50 anyway!

Some things you can buy in bulk while the offers are on but don't stock up on nappies too much, they grow so fast you don't want to be stuck with packs!

I tend to make sure I have a spare tin of formula and a spare pack of nappies, but don't buy in bulk more than that!

Pack of Pampers nappies a week - +/- £8 (depending where they are on offer)
Wipes (1 or 2 packs?) - £1 a week (I buy them in bulk because I hate running out of them)
Formula - used to be £10 every 5 days but now on prescription so I do not pay.

Really, a baby doesn't cost all that much if you can resist buying all the extra stuff! .... I can't :haha:

Amazon subscribe and save if a fab way of getting decent brand nappies and wipes closer to supermarket prices. Delivered for free to your door every month.

It changes all the time. For example, we used loads of nappies when she was newborn, but fewer now she is 6 months.

Nappies - £9 a month. Love Aldi nappies. Found pampers useless as well as expensive.

Formula - approx £40 a month. Was bf at the beginning until my milk started to go.

Wipes - approx £5 a month.

Clothes - approx £10 a month. Love Sainsburys clothes. Cute and cheap.

Food - just started, but not buying jars and just making homemade purées.

I get whatever nappies are on offer, so £20 a month maximum. Wipes £4 a month maximum. Breastfeed so no costs there and when we wean at 6 months he'll have the same as us, so no extra then either.

The only other thing is clothes which I do buy a lot of!

we get costco diapers and wipes (wipes are freaking great) and wipes are about 30 dollars for 900. then it's 180 diapers for about 40 dollars. we take a month and a half to go through the diapers and we still have not bought new wipes since he's been born.

so a month about about 29 dollars for diapers and it's been 4 months and we've gone through 3 packs of 150 from the wipes... 5 dollars a month

total would be 34 dollars a month. we breast feed so no formula.

if we buy clothes it's rarely, most clothes has come from gifts before he was born, bought before he was born, and then christmas he got more. We've only bought 10 outfits total since he's been born and I don't remember what those cost.

Formula lasts me 5-6 days so I budget £45-50 for this.
Nappies I normally get asdas which is roughly £20pm
wipes I get when there are special deals and stock up but roughly £3 or £4 pm

then there are random one off things like needing bigger bibs, bigger socks and other little things.

this month we needed swim nappies £3 , bigger dummies £5
So id budget £10 for misc.

He also goes to swimming etc. Which is £4.90 PW

anyway im rambling now, basically I budget the £80 child benefit money for him, it gets used on him one way or another

I must use shit loads of wipes compared to everyone else! I buy a 12 pack every month! Prob use 8-10 of them.

lol I only use 1-2 per time. I wipe, fold, wipe, fold, wipe, fold...then grab a new one to go over everything to be sure I didn't miss. every once in a while there is a giant blow out but that's usually enough

I grab a handful then dump. No shit is getting on my hands! Think I average 5 wipes for a poop but they all tend to go up his back and all round his todger.
