Hi there,
I was breast feeding exclusively for the first 10 weeks and gave up totally last week.
My baby is taking 5 bottles in the day and one and a half in the night equalling a whopping 43ish oz a day.
Now I used to breast feed on demand and wasn't making enough milk for my baby so she had weight gain issues (being a slow gainer and then losing weight )
When I had her weighed at 3 months she'd thankfully gotten out of the below 2nd percentile and come above the 9th.
She weighed 5.02kg at 3 months so she's still on the small side of things.
I think she's gained since then but my question is: Am I feeding her too much or is she playing catch up for all the milk she didn't have early on?
She was born on the 50th percentile so wondering if she needs more to get back to a more average percentile for her?
Everywhere I read, that much milk seems like too much.
Also, the one and half bottles in the night (after which she's learnt to self settle herself the sweetheart) are they necessary until a certain age and is she waking because she's hungry?
Thanks in advance for your replies.
