Ladies just wondering how many oz of formula my 10 month old should be taking? Recently he has just been getting a bottle in the morning and before bed but he is only taking about 6oz between the 2 feeds! Is this ok? He gets 3 solid meals a day and is a good eater then. I cant force him to drink the bottle so not sure what to do

I think they should be getting 500ml at that age, but that includes dairy in any food you give them. So brekkies and Fromage frais are brilliant dairy bolsters. I can't remember how much dd was drinking at that age, but I'm sure it wasn't a fantastic amount.

My little man drank 3 oz yesterday, and drank 6oz today... :/ Hes never been a mil baby though... I have had to give him quite a bit of water in between to make up for it as he gets thirsty. x

DD is 9.5 months and has recently put herself down to 2 7oz bottles a day, flat out refuses her 3pm one now! Just been trying to ensure she gets plenty of dairy/calcium in her diet, I think if they have a healthy varied diet the amount of milk is less of a concern :flower:

Forgot to add, I make sure LO has cows milk in his cereal, and he has cheese nibbles throughout the day :) There tends to be some dairy in each meal, even if its a yogurt... As he won't drink milk now x

My 9 1/2 month old has been wanting less formula over the past couple of months. It was beginning to become a real concern for me because I've read many times on B&B that a baby's main source of nutrition under 1yr. should be formula but, like you said, it can't be forced.
She had the sniffles last week and couldn't breathe well while drinking so was having only 200-300ml a day for a few days there! She's back up to 400-500ml a day but it's not easy getting her to take that much over the day. Often she'll drink 60ml and push the bottle away. So, we've started giving her yoghurts - apricot and strawberry flavored ones have been gladly eaten and we'll try banana flavor tomorrow. We wanted to get her to eat plain yoghurt too but no chance. We also give her fruit and wheat based cereal type purees, although I'm not sure of the word for these.. but her formula is mixed in.
Good luck! I know how worrisome it can be but substituting in other ways does the trick! :)
