How much is/did you 5 week old drink?

Hi ladies - very interested to know what your babies were drinking at 5 weeks old please?

My boy was 5 weeks yesterday and is drinking 5/6oz approx every 3/4 hours. I have him on SMA. To me this is totally acceptable but I keep getting comments from family etc about how big he is and am worried I'm giving him too much?

He was 7lb11oz born and at 3.5 weeks already weighed 10lbs which my HV was surprised about and said ideally they should put on 0.5lb a week whereas he'd put on 1lb lol!

My MIL keeps talking about hungry baby milk or adding baby rice but I'm against both of these ideas myself but would welcome any opinions you may have.

At 5 weeks my LO was having 5oz every 2.5 - 3 hours. Absolutely no need for hungry baby milk or rice. Your baby is thriving and doing perfectly

My little girl is drinking about 5oz every 3-4 hours. Sometime more sometimes less. Ignore what other people say! Every baby is different.

My baby is the same she was on 4 1/2 oz every 3 hours and is now on 5-6 oz every 2 1/2 - 3 hours at 6 weeks (growth spurt I think)
All babies are different, feed your baby when he's hungry!!! It's easy for others to judge when there not the ones who have a crying baby who wants more than the avarage amount of milk.

I know this thread is a few months old but I'm starting to get worried. My lo was combi fed up until recently, she's now down to 2 bottles of breast milk a day and the rest formula. She's on aptamil, but I've been making up 3oz bottles and usually she takes anywhere between 1 and 3oz (she's 51/2 weeks). I this normal? I see everyone else's lo's are taking 4-6oz and I'm worried she's not taking enough! She was 6lb12 born and is now 9lb+ (getting her weighed today) and growing steadily x

My daughter is also combo feed. She usually takes 3 oz. but cries for more. Do you burp her often during feedings? Some times this helps make room for then to eat more.

Sounds about right to me! My LO was the same but it settled out and now he has 6oz every 3-4 hours.

5 weeks was a big growth spurt time for my LO!

Yep I make sure I wind her several times a feed, we use gripe water so she has no probs getting her wind up. She's now 6 weeks and still only taking max 3oz formula every 3 hours. I suppose she'd eat more if she needed it :/ xx

baby rice at 5weeks? i would strongly advise against this.
my son was about 5oz at 5weeks he still takes around 5oz.
if hes happy keep going as you are you dont need to give him heavier milk or rice.

My son took 4oz every 2 hours at 5 weeks - at 7 weeks, he still does the same. Except for when he wakes up in the night (usually does 5-6 hour stretch) where he will have a 5oz one

From 3 weeks my LO was 5oz every 3 hours, still was at 5 weeks Sounds perfectly fine to me!
