How old do you feel?

My mum said something last night which made me stop and think. (She is 65 and my dad is 71). She said that when they were young middle aged people were in the their late 30s and 40s, and old people were in their 60s and 70s. And she said when she looks at me (I'm 37) she thinks I'm "young" and she is "middle aged"! And tbh I'm constantly surprised when I remember that I'm 37 because the years seem to get added on so fast these days lol!

If I didn't know how old I was, I would guess that I'm about 25 (not talking about looks - about how you feel). How about you?

Definately in my 20s rather than 30s - I'm nearly 36 & can't quite believe I'm closer to 40 than 30!!

My granny (84) recently said to my grandpa (82) "I hope i don't end up like you when I'm old!" It's not like she has dementia, she is perfectly aware of how old she is, but obviously doesn't feel it!

Do you ever get asked your age and hesitate briefly because the first number that popped into your head was definitely wrong? I instinctively want to say 18!

Yep! People don't ask me my age that often these days and I always have to stop and think!

I am 38....get told I look around 28...10 years younger....but I feel like im 50

I'm 36 but everyone , and i mean everyone think i'm only around 28!! My mom is 62 and looks in her 40's and its all natural, she's never worn make-up!
On the inside i feel about that, 28, and i'm hoping my ovaries feel the same about themselves!!

I certainly do feel and look younger than I am. I'm turning 37 this Dec... and still have to say "what the what?" Really?! lol. Where did the time go... I do have too many aches and pains for my age (injuries from my early 20's coming back to haunt me)- lol. But otherwise I'm healthier and happier today than I was in my 20's.. and my goal is to look and feel better at 40 than I did at 30... so I'm well on my way hehe.

I think like a 20 year old most of the time and then look at my nearly 11 year old and then realise im older than i think

Hm. Speaking as someone who got asked for ID at ASDA last year i think its fair to say i don't look 40, ha, ha! I usually get told about 28 - which is lovely, lol! However, i don't mind getting older as i feel lots better about myself, more confident and i KNOW so much more about myself and the world. In that sense, and when faced with very young people, i definitely feel like a grown up and my 'age' - whatever that means, lol! But frankly, no, i don't think i feel like middle-aged or the stereotype 40 year old. I think a lot of it comes from how you think about life and your family as well.

So, in conclusion...i guess im probable stuck somewhere at 30?? My gran once said she felt about 50 when she was in her late 70's and mum also says about 38-40 and she's 60.

My husband is 5 years younger than me and just turned 30.... i joke that he keeps me young! Having said that the people i work with thought i was younger than 35 due to my immaturity!

I remember being 16 at school and thinking 30 was so old... now i'm 35 i still feel like i'm 16 and wonder when i'll become boring and middle aged! Perhaps never... life is too short!

I still feel in my early 30s (like 33). Every now and then I get carded, but not clear why. I'm 38--will be 39 in March. I think I look in my early to mid 30s. The TTC stuff makes me feel my age though.

I'm 32, but everyone around where I live thinks I am only 20! I guess that's a good thing, right?
It gets annoying if I go to the casinos with my DH on vacations and such, I get carded and scrutinized every time I try to order a drink!

My dad is 70 but we all know that his body is 70 but his mind is 35..he thinks he can do anything till he trys..as for me..somedays my body feels like 60 but in my mind I am 25 but in reality I am 38 ( I think I look my age ) but the sad part is I remember meeting people when I was younger and they were the age I am now and think..Man, they are old

Just turned 36 in November..I have three children 14, 16, and 19 which makes me feel old however my new man will be 31 in March and he likes to tease me that I got a younger man. When I met him a year ago I thought he was my age and he thought I was 27. I was young when my first child was born..almost 17 and people would ask me if she was my little sister..well we still get that today! Now that I am 11 weeks pregnant at my "advanced maternal age" I wonder how it will feel to be the kinda old mom instead of the really young mom!
