How old were you when your parents stopped doing the whole 'santa' thing?

my mum sent me and OH home on xmas eve with a stocking last year! she's said we're not allowed this year tho. we used to always get a stocking at the foot of the bed, which we could open whenever we woke up and a sack that we went into mum and dad's room to open. my sister got told she wasnt getting a sack this year (she's 16) and kicked off so much my mum told her she was only joking and has had to go out and buy stuff!!

 WHAT????? They stop????

Dont tell my parents... they still do it for us :smug:

Tasha...what are you on about?! I'm horrified! lol

Santa still comes to me and I'm 24! The Christmas faries bring me new PJs every Christmas eve, I still have a stocking n stuff!

lol

Seriously, I love Christmas and all that stuff really does still happen....and there's gotta be a satsuma in my stocking, there just has to be lol

 We always used to have a satsuma in our stockings...and as we got older and didn't have as many presents my mum would put half the fruit bowl in there (stockings were quite big!) - the biggest oranges on earth to fill it up nicely :laugh2: x

I moved out of home almost 10 years ago but only stopped getting a stocking 2 years ago! We still get a pile of pressies from santa though!!

Oh you lucky things who still get it! These days I am lucky to get a present under her tree, let alone a stocking or a pile of presents from my mother! Then again, she does have 5 kids... and three of us are grown up  So she probably has enough on her plate running around buying gifts for the whole family PLUS sorting out stockings and doing the whole santa thing for her two youngest

We get asain pears in our stocking and we still get stockings to this day :) My and my sisters OH's both think it's great.

:|.. i still do the whole mince pies and milk(Well mince pies and a beer, my dad used to just say it was the last house santa would come to, and needed a break, my dad doesnt like milk that much ) lol
Even tho i know my dad eats them, it just gets me in the mood for christmas lol:happydance:

My parents were very brave and always brought the stocking into me and my brother's rooms and left them on our beds, i remember one night i was still awake and door opened so i pretended to be asleep and i heard my dad's slippers shuffling across the carpet and thought hmmmm lol. Not sure age though.

Im going to my in laws this christmas and they still do the whole stockings christmas routine. and all their children are grown up. I dont think they will ever stop because now they can do it for grand kids soon!

My family do it because they still have young kids. My brother still believes in santa at 11. I thought this was weird. Why dont the kids at school tell him?

Still does now:blush:

I even still get eater egg hunts *ahem*

I'm not entirely sure... I dunno if my mum just abruptly stopped or if I asked her. It may have been around the same time I realised the little painting the Tooth Fairy had left me, matched a picture in our dining room...which my mum had used to paint a ceramic piece... Everything kinda clicked into place... and left a hole where Santa and the Tooth Fairy had once lived... :( I was about 9 or 10 I think.

My mum still filled my stocking for me up until a couple of years ago. :) Last year I was at my OH's house  so I didn't get one..

xx

It's never stopped my mum just does it for mine and my sisters OH's as well now lol

i still get all that now
i stopped believing when i was about 10, but i still had suspicisons (kept secret from everyone haha) until i was like 12, and even then i loved to pretend :P
Im just a big kid really, and i love it haha :D

Santa still delivers a Chocolate Orange to me, dad, mum, brother and hubby. Funny though, he has the exact same handwriting as my mum and mine and hubby's are always in the same bag my mum delivers to us with presents from her in...

I think the last time I got anything "from Santa" other than this traditional treat (or socks!) I was probably about 9 or 10.

I found out when I was 6, my step-sister decided it was time for me to know. My mum and dad were SO pissed off.
They still do the prezzies under the tree/end of the bed thing though :)
