How soon did you or someone you know had a succesfull VBAC?

I had a c-section due to complete placenta previa on March 16, 2013 and I am now due for my second one June 27, 2014 so its about 15.5 months in between. Most hospitals wont do it here before 18 months except one hospital who is willing to examine my scar and my case.. I do not have placenta previa this time so I would really like to be able to give birth naturally especially that this time around I will have a toddler running around the house to take care of..
I would like to know if Im being irrealistic or if this is possible?

I gave birth via EMCS to our son this past year, March 29th. I was due April 30th.

I am pregnant again with a rainbow baby girl and due April 30th AGAIN, so will have less than a year in between births. And I am going for VBAC and very confident it will happen seeing as she's now head down (breech=RCS) and they will induce at 39 weeks if I don't go into labor on my own. I can't wait to try!

I am going for VBAC bc RCS's can only be done maybe 4 times.. and if I want more than 3 children I'll be very high risk.. and no thanks on that!

Here in the UK they generally encourage vbac if the gap is more than 12 months between births so my consultant actually wanted me to go vbac anyway! I also will have roughly a 15 month gap but I am refusing induction (my own reasons) so I will be praying for natural labour before I have a c section booked for 41+6. Also I am hoping for no BP issues this time as I was induced last time so if baby needs to come early it will also be automatic c section and my consultant doesn't want me to have a long labour, so failure to progress at an "average" rate and I will also be taken for c section!! Fingers crossed it all goes my way lol!

I had a vbac 16 months after having an EMCS and everything went fine. You really need support from your doctor and the hospital because for me as soon as a felt those labour pains I was saying I wanted a CS....even though I truly didn't. A VBAC is so much easier to heal from is very much worth it.

I'm hoping for a vbac with a 16 month gap.

The 'normal' stats for rupture are around 0.5-1% and i believe there are two medical studies that show an increased risk of rupture where delivery is less than 18months - the odds increase to around 2.5% although there are other factors to consider for each individual.

At 16 months i'm so close to the 18 month ideal that my dr is v supportive - i believe the risk to me to be lower with a vbac than other risks associated with c sections.

Thx everyone! Its great to hear different stories! Im just waiting for a phone call to go see a doctor who is recommending vbac.. They will evaluate me and we will go from there

Hey I am a VBAC hopefully here too my daughter is already 18 months old so I think I go past that line of worrying, but I am so so hopeful and so desperate, I hated my C-section xx

roxane, try to go to birthwithoutfear.com I found my doc from this website through another young ladies VBAC story. She lives in Atlanta area like me - so I googled the Dr's name- had a consult with him while ttc go mys surgical reports for him, and he agreed then to do it and still agrees now that I am pregnant. Turns out he actually did some sort of commentary for PBS and also I have seen his name pop up on various VBAC blogs. I choose him because of his belief in a womans body to be able to give birth with out inductions or c section (always tries to avoid it). He reminds me of a mid wife I used to see lol- very old school.
