I always have an issue getting her to burp, so I googled "baby won't burp" anyway I found this thing where a girl said instead of patting her back, she used to sit the baby up in an upright position on her knee with the babies legs hanging over the side and supporting her chest/neck...and instead of patting, she bounced gently like a "horsey ride" and it worked anytime. Anyway after trying to burp Renah for 15 minutes to no avail I tried this - by God it took like 4 bounces and she was burping up a storm

Just a suggestion! I'm doing this every time from now on!

I do this with Jack. It was a god send when i found out how to do it this way!

I do this with Oliver. He just screams if I try it any other way!!

I burp Jasmine on my chest... works the best for us, you have to make sure your patting hard enough, alot of people are afraid to pat their backs hard so burping that way doesn't work.

Chase is hard to burp. I do it this way all the time and it still takes quite awhile for most burps. I try everything and his burps can be quite stubborn.

Iv always done that...it works wonders :) xx

Good info! Hannah's usually pretty easy to burp but there are those times when she wont!

I will try this but usually as soon as I put leo upright over my shoulder it all comes out anyway!

I have found bouncing works best for Bren as well. One baby book I have says rubbing instead of patting.

I used to burp max like that and I loved it , now as soon as he stands straight he burps up a storm lol

Yes, I find rubbing better than patting. Also, if Poppy is really refusing to bring his wind up I lay her on the floor and push her knees up to her chest for a few minutes, this normally encourages it out of the other end!

Usually, laying her down and then lifting her back up will do the trick though, must be to do with gravity. Also, she sometimes burps whilst on the booby! I am always so proud when she does that!

I learnt to do that with Jack-really it does make common sense as we find it hard to burp whilst slouching too.

Lol we learned this while Tegan was in hospital, another good way is leaning them back and then sitting them back up slowly, or leaning them over to the side and back again :)

This is wot i do with Ellie i put her legs inbetween mine and lower her down so my other leg is supporting her more upright and bounce and i rock her backward and forwards whilst shes in an upright position that seems to work for the stubborn burps but shes really good at bringing her own burps up thank god lol

I do find that bouncing works better!

Had some problems burping Lola because I wouldn't pat hard enough and bouncing her would always work! :)

i tried everything else as well before i did this and it works so well. I stroke his back from the bottom up to his neck though and it's very good when i have to burp him at night.

Ohh good idea.. im going to do this with Tye. I never know if im doing it right when i pat/rub his back

I did this last night and it worked straight away! Although if you have a sleepy baby and you want to put him straight into his cot in the night it kind of wakes them up! But then so does wind eventually.
