Let me preface this by saying I am paranoid of chicken and food poisoning! I've never used a microwave to defrost anything before, I use the fridge or room temp (which I know isn't great either but I think as I've always done it and been fine it doesnt worry me)

I took a whole chicken (1.5kg) out the freezer last night about 6 and put it in the fridge, I took it out this morning and it isn't a lump of ice but I can feel it is still quite frozen, I would like to start cooking at 4 at the latest.

How do I defrost it in 3'hours??

Big pan full of water (kinda lukewarm temp) and put the chicken in.

Alternatively, has your oven got a defrost setting? Ours does, it doesn't warm up but circulates the air and defrosts better.

defrost in the sink in cold water
i just usually leave it on the counter to defrost tho!

Thank you for bumping, I usually do that too but left it too late. But thank you both for the water tip, managed to defrost in time and we're all still standing :)
