Would love some comments from people in regards to feeling my belly and finding out how my baby is lying.

For example i cant figure out where head is or spine or feet etc... how can i ?

Ooooh!! I wouldlove to know this any tips etc! Im forever guessing.. is that a foot or a bum or a hand or am i prodding him in the eye...

For me, i get a really round hard "thing" right under my boobs... always though it was the bum.... turns out this is the head.

If its round and hard, chances r its the head

I thought I'd have this sussed by now with it being my 4th but I cant feel anything round and hard so dont have a clue which way my little monkey is lying!

I've got my 28 week appt on wednesday tho so I'm going to ask.

xx

I saw something posted on here a while ago about belly mapping............I still have it saved in my bookmarks so i'll post the link......

i said this to the MW this morning when she said he is head down.
As of an evening i can feel lots of hard bits laying across my tummy lol....she wasn't any help tbh x

I know if you feel most of your movements up top near your ribs, he is most likely head down
and if you feel most of your movements low down then he is probably breech.

Not sure about anything else though.
My OB can tell how he is laying by simply feeling around on my belly.

hmm I just got back from my doc office and she felt right in between my ovaries just about my vagina and said the baby was engaged and head down... I also get a lot of movement up top so i think thats partly how they know too.

If your baby gets hiccups, where it comes from is a good indicator of where the top of him/her (head and chest) is.

If you notice a hard, round bit and want to know if it's the head or bum, push it gently with your palm (yeah, don't poke :-k) and if the whole baby moves, it's the bum. If it's the head, it would move at the neck with the rest of the body still.
