Hello ladies

This is my second baby and with our first.. he was fed every 2 hours with being so small (4.10lb) and we used a bottle warmer in his room so it was easier than going downstairs to warm his bottles up but now its broken

Baby number 2 is going to be in our room and we havent much space.. i was wondering wether to try a flask the tomme tippee one. Fill it up with hot water before we go to bed and then it should still be warm. If too warm have another flask of cooled water

Any suggestions please :)

I premake bottles and just put them in the bottle warmer when lo is hungry. You could use a jug of hot water but youd still have to go downstairs to get it. sorry not much help! :)

I make up 2 bottles with 3.5oz of boiled water and put them in LOs room, along with 2 formula pots with 5 scoops of formula. Obviously the bottles will be cool come bed time. I take the tommee tippee flask of boiling water to bed with me.
If (when!) he wakes for a feed, I top up the now cooled boiled water with water from the flask up to 5oz and add the formula and hey presto, perfect temp bottles of formula :)

I half fill all her bottles with 2oz of cooled boiled water and fill up her tommee tippee flask with boiling water. Then when she wants a bottle I just pour in 2oz out of her flask. It is perfect temp, I do this through the day too.

We fill a flask, some measured powder containers and take up 2 sterilised bottles. We make up the bottle then run it under a cold tap to quick cool. Not the quickest process, but preferable to going downstairs.

I used to do what you suggested op, but eventually I just took a bottle with boiled water up with me and it'd cool to a nice temp overnight and added powder to that. Was better than listening to ds scream for ages whilst we prepared a bottle. Though with Dd I used cartons for a short while when she went down to one nightly bottle. Ds was on anti reflux milk for a while which doesn't come in cartons somewhat irritatingly.

I have done exactly that with both my girls. Boiled or heated water, kept it in a thermos, then had pre boiled cooled water in the bottle...... Insta warm water and sooooo much faster than a bottle warmer. I even use it on the go ALL the time! Love it!

I pre make the bottles for the day and night every morning and just go downstairs when he wakes up and microwave them for 30 seconds (he likes them really warm)

Oh wow am I supposed to be warming formula? We give 2 oz, pre mixed, only for her midnight feed. Same stuff that was used in the hospital...they never had us warm it there. Is there an advantage to warming? Lily does tend to spit up a bit when she takes her formula bottle. Would warming it help with this?

I bought a Baby Brezza on Amazon. It's a water kettle that plugs in and keeps the water at 98 degrees, day and night.

When you drink cold water, your body burns calories to bring it to body temp. It's just better to use warm, but not horrible if you use room temp. I definitely wouldn't use refridgerated.

I also pre make, refridgerate and microwave for 30 seconds as needed and shake well. Much more hygienic than using pre boiled water and adding powder to room temperature water which wont kill the bacteria in the formula. With DS and his day feeds I used to boil the kettle, add 2 oz boiled water, add 7 scoops of powder, shake very well then add 5oz of previously boiled water from the fridge so the bacteria is killed by the boiling water but the bottle is instantly ready!

I dont warm mine up. My lo was in scbu and it was never suggested that having a warm bottle would be easier for her as she would burn less calories. Also I thought microwaving bottles was a No-No???

I use the ready to feed formula at night, so I just open and pour into a bottle. I do have a bottle warmer that I use in the day though for bottles that I have in the fridge.

The Brezza is specifically for formula mixing. It's NOT boiled water. It is water warmed to 98*, and perfecly safe. Nowhere did I say it was boiled.

I only use Nursery water. $1 a gallon at the grocery store. It's specifically for babies.

I heat 9oz bottles for a minute with a 1000w microwave and that's the temp he likes them. They're not boiling but deffo reallllllly warm. He takes it room temp though from cartons if we're out. I've ony once given it cold. I took a bottle out fridge to take out put it in insulated bottle holder and had nowhere to warm it. He didn't drink much.. Don't think he liked it haha!
