It's bugging me lol

I've seen it written down quite alot recently and heard it being pronounced a couple of ways. I think its quite a pretty name to look at but keep saying it different ways in my head and can't get my head around it so its annoying the hell out of me because i think its pretty to look at!

how would you pronounce this name? :flow:

its annoying because ever since Lena Dunham became famous ive seen it written down everywhere (mainly daily mail website :haha: they love her it seems!) that i started thinking about the name.
then saturday i went to see beautiful creatures at the cinema and the main character is Lena Duchannes and even though it was only saturday i can't for the life of me remeber how her name was being said! :dohh:

Well if you'd like it pronounced as Lena Dunham she pronounces it Lee-Nah
I personally would say it Lay-Nah
Either way, Love the name!! :flower:

I've known 2 irl and they both called themselves Lee-nah so that is how I would say it.

see the first way i say it is Lee-nah but then i think no because otherwise it would be spelt Lina
then i think Lay-nah but again think no because then it would be spelt with an 'a'
then say it Len-ah as thats how its spelt :haha:
googling it it comes up with all three as acceptable pronounciations depending on where you live. with different european countries and america mentioned but not a popular pronounciation for the UK so its confusing me even more :haha: because i really like the name spelling but can't decide how i like to pronounce it better.

also it would have to make me reconsider middle names for a future girl depending on how i decided to pronounce it (Lee-nah Row-ee-na sounds a bit strange dont you think?!)

why do some names have to be so difficult  especially when you like them!

I say 'Leh-nah' but that's probably because the only Lena I know pronounces it like that.

now the thing is i think i quite like saying it Len-ah (as in jenna but with an 'L') now that i've had a night to sleep on it. (or lack of, strange what can keep you awake at nights  )

now if you pronounce it as above (len-ah) then what middle names could you have with it? or Hyphenated with? im not a fan of hyphenated names but i do like to have it as an option in case i decide that its not too bad :haha: x
