How would YOU pronounce....

First glace, Lee-la. I could also see it as Lie-la.

Thanks girls. I love the name Lila (Lie-la) but googling it a lot of people think it's pronounced Leela. I'm not really keen on the spelling Lyla or Lilah?

Id say Lie-la but i would expect confusion!

Lee-la. I'd use Lyla for Lie-la I don't think Lila looks right.

Lie-la, definitely. A good friend I know named her daughter this and no one's confused or ever questioned by the spelling.

I would say lie-la however spelled that way you are going to get a lot of people saying leela, I would try spell it differently like Lyla to be sure

Initial reaction was Lee-la when I saw it, but it's easy to see that it could be Lie-la, so if I saw it written, I'd probably ask the person how they say it.

Lie-la for sure. It would have to ve spelt Leela for me to say it the other way.

If it were lilah I would say lie-la but for some reason Lila makes me want to say lee-la.

Wow so much confusion. Lila is the traditional/old school spelling for Lie-la. Personally I don't get how you get Lee-la out of it but obviously a lot of people would. I guess Lyla or Lilah would be better to avoid confusion, sucks because I don't like either spelling

I would stick with Lila personally, you'd have to correct people from time to time but it is a traditional spelling and I think most people will get it right.

Thanks everyone, I'm only newly pregnant & may not even have a girl lol but just curious xx

I think I have an issue with I's I did the same with someone else's name turned the I into an ee! Not sure why.
