I love the name Chiara but i don't want a name that i will constantly have to correct. My name is always miss-pronounced & it drives me nuts!

How would you pronounce the name Chiara?

What do you think of this name?

I was thinking Chiara Sophia or Chiara Juliet :flower:

i would pronounce it

kee-argh-a

am i right ??

i really like it if im right :flower:

I would pronounce it

Chi-arr-ah

I like Chiara Sophia, really pretty :flower:

kee-argh-a - it's nice :)

I also like Caira or Kyrah xxx

'Chiara' is pronounced 'Keerah' (ie Keira as in Keira Knightley) as far as I know.

I know a chiara pronounced key-argh-a. Its a really pretty name, she gets key for short tho...

I would say Chee -Ara

Sorry..thinking of the Chia Pet commercials and that's how they say Chia...(Chee)

A Chiara I know is pronounced key-ar-a

Yes, this is the way i would want it pronounced -

"Key - Are - Uh"

But it definitely seems there are quite a few different ways to say it... so, i probably wouldn't choose this name

Thanks, girls!

I know a Chiara and here in Italy it is def pronounced Kee-ar-a.

You could always spell it Kiara or Kyara - then there is no confusion.

I would pronounce it See-ar-ah.

I have a wonderful italian friend who when we first met made me repeat her name several times until I got it right!
She pronounces it Ke-yarr-uh with a bit more emphasis on the yar. But then she has a very italian accent, we mostly just say Key-ar-uh. I love it, it's such a pretty, girly name.

I've never heard it before - it is a beautiful name.
I definitely would have said Key-are-uh (even before I read your next post!!).

My name is forever being mispronounced (and misspelled) too, so I know what you mean. If it's even a little doubtful I probably wouldn't go for it.

Why not just spell it in a way that it cannot be pronounced wrong?

I would say Key-arr-ah, but some might say Kee-rah because of the actress Keira Knightley. People tend to be lazy. My full name is Carolyn and I absolutely hate it when people can't be bothered to either listen or remember and call me Caroline, it really makes my blood boil!
