HSG in about 2 weeks?

Should i be nervous? I'm so scared its going to hurt. Also my blood tests came back normal but my consultant is still talking about putting my on clomid. Is this normal? x

I had my HSG couple of months ago now, a bit like a routine smear test with an x-ray twist. If you get tense about it, it will hurt more. Taking some pain killers before you go is recommended.
It wasn't as bad as I thought- and nowhere near as bad as I expect childbirth to be so plese don't worry too much.
Clomid seems to be the general cure-all they slap you with when they're not sure whats wrong. Even if your bloods are fine, clomid will give your ovulation an extra kick and help you ttc. Good luck!

Thank you for the reply. I've never had a smear either but i think i get the general twist of it. Thanks for the painkiller tip, will deffo try that! xx

I had mine in December and unfortunately it was not pleasant. Sharp pain when the put in the catheder - BUT the pain only lasted during the procedure, once I was up and out I was fine. I did spot for about 3 days and because they did it so close to my period it jumped my period 4 days early which sucked but I would still recommend it.
I am glad i got it done, showed my right tube was blocked and at least answered some questions.

I have to ring the hosp on the first day of my period so they can schedule it between period and O. They wont do them after O in case someone accidentely gets pregnant before their HSG . I'm sure it'll be worth it xx

my first hsg was easy in and out in 10 minutes no pain nothing, the second however was fine until they put the dye in and i got really bad pain was like period pain just worse and was in there a good half hour, so i guess it just depends, i would take painkillers before you go that way you should be just fine
