HSG nxt Wed!!

Hello Ladies
Im on CD 2 today,and had to ring my FS secretary to book in for my HSG
SHes booked me in for nxt Wednesday @11.30am,i work on a Wednesday and dread askin for the time off!! I dont really want to say why i want it off either!
She said it wud take 30mins or so and that its prob best not to go back to work afterwards just incase it has a bad affect on me
I wanted to ask should i ask my Hubby to be with me?
Im a bit nervous but excited if you kno how i feel?lol
Hate the thought of askin for time off!!!!
I really hope they find out whats wrong and dont say youre grand we cant find anything!

Hi bex here, I had mine done today. Really was nervous. Determined to find answers tho. I went on my own but got oh to drive. Feel ok after but I would take it easy rest of day. I felt like I was leaking & bleeding after but nothing to worry about . I am such a wimp so I did it u will be fine. I hope u get answers. I did straight away. Both clear.

Thank you dreamofabean. I am relieved but also in limbo land as why can't I get preg after 2yrs????? Any way good luck to u both. It really isn't that bad and over in minutes. I know u feel bad getting time off work but it's not like it's all the time & it's all part of getting ready to be a mummy. x o

Good Luck with your HSG, I have actually had 3 HSG's and I will say that when it is being done, there is a bit of cramping but after they are done, I was fine, I felt a little bloated, I went home and layed around long enough for the valum to wear off and then went to work, I was fine for the rest of the day. I hope that find out whats going on.

Babycarey - just say you have a hospital appointment to work and they shouldnt ask you what for. You will be fine. Good luck xx

Bex- Glad it went well for you hun. Dont stress yourself about the fact that the results are clear. Its all part of finding out more information about you. The whole LT TTC journey is all bit by bit as you reach each new step. Stick with it and keep that in mind xxx

I agree with fluffy just tell them you have an appointment or take a vacation day. They definitley shouldn't ask you.

I really wish you well and usually everything goes well. It's really not bad at all mayb some cramping but nothing you can't bear. I had mine last week and thank God my DH went bc he helped keep me calm and when I got the news of them being blocked I don't think I could have been alone and drove an hr to get back home so I'm thankful that I didn't go by myself!!!

Its great to hear frm others who have had it done!
Theres so many scary stories on here!! The radiographer did say to take painkillers 1hour before it.
I am worried about work,askin for time off, but im still going lol no matter what they say or shout about! Ive waited long enough as it is.....

Hello Princess
I got my 1st appointment with my FS privately becus he had a 6-7month waitin list and then wait another 6 months for my HSG!
So we thought the cost didnt matter becus we only saw him 3weeks ago and nxt wk im havin my HSG!Woo hoo.....
By goin private we have saved a 12-13month wait! My hubby got the bill!lol

My HSG is tomm (gulp!!!). And sadly hubby is not around cause he's away with work. So will be going alone. Its at 9 in the morning, and I was hoping that I could get to work from there. I am scared and worried about being alone, but I am trying to be brave


I figured that if it hurts bad, I'll just wait around in the hospital till i feel better.

As for being off work in the morn, i'll just say its a doc appointment and hopefully won't get any more questions.

Feeling so alone Wish one of you could come with me

Hey keyahopes, just stumbled on your post. Please don't worry about the HSG! If you do get any cramping, it only happens while they're doing the procedure and goes away as soon as they take out the dye balloon thingy. You'll be absolutely fine . . .I went for a day's shopping after (obviously I told work I was still in lots of pain and couldn't come in )! xxxxx

Hey - the HSG is totally fine - honestly! The only bad thing is, as my doctor put it, that it's a bit in-elegant. I went straight back to work afterwards!

Hey hun,
I had mine in Aug and its fine. I'm such a wimp as well lol. It cramped when they put the dye in but I didn't even feel the tube or balloon going in.
You can tell work you have a hospital appointment and its personal, they shouldn't ask questions then.

Have you asked for the time off yet babycarey?

Princess - 4 months does seem a long time. I hope it goes quickly. Its amazing the difference across the country. I had the FS appointment on the tuesday and was told to ring the x-ray department in the morning to see if they can fit me in that cycle. I was lucky and had it on the thursday. If your wait is that long would consider private, but im afraid I cant help you with hw much that might be. I found a thread on another website that might help though here
