We've been ttc for about 6 years. Currently we are working on getting his motility/count up but I'm still worried that we won't be able to naturally conceive due to his erectile dysfunction. He had a prescription for Viagra about 2 years ago but when we went to pick it up.. It was nearly $500!!!! His most recent doc put him on a slew of natural supplements- primarily ginseng- and there was no improvement after about 4-5 months. Is there anything else out there that we should try or should we just sell a kidney for that little blue pill? Please help!

$500 is insane! How many tablets do you get for that? In the UK we pay between £20-25 for 4 tablets via an NHS private prescription.

Can your DP get an erection at all? My DH can get an erection but cannot always sustain it (especially when we BD frequently around ov time). We use a mixture of Viagra for BD or he *ahem* produces a sample into a Softcup and I add pressed and insert. This may be worth a try as it takes the pressure off 'performing'.

Good luck :)

Thanks for replying! Sadly he has been unable to achieve a full erection for several years now. Occasionally it's a bit... Better?... But also does not last. He has type one diabetes which the doc believes to be the culprit. I've been doing a lot of reading about "at home insemination" and brought it up to him recently. I felt terrible afterwards because it seemed to bruise his already fragile male ego. I'm not sure which would be harder on him at this point.. Buying the pills and (possibly) still not being able to get pregnant OR just pushing for the at-home option.

I'm so sorry - that sounds like such a difficult situation for you both. :(
