My mum bought a stock pile of huggies whilst I was pregnant size 3s, I've used pampers up until now as he was too small for the huggies, he's now 10lb and i started to use the huggies 2 days ago andi have to say that they have leaked almost every time. Does this mean that they are still too big? Although they are from 9lb? Or does this happen often with huggies? Or is it simply my little man is not going to get on with them? I've got near enough 400 to use #-o looks like there going to waste xx

I found huggies leaked :( but also pampers started leaking but I went up to the next size an they were fine x

I didn't put my LO in size three until he was about 12 pounds and I have not had many nappy fails. He only has huggies at my mum's house as I buy cheaper nappies, but we have not found that the Huggies leak. Perhaps stick with size 2 for another week or two and then see.

I find going up a size helpful in stopping leaks but maybe the size 3s are still too big for your LO and that can definitely cause leaks. Are the leaks around the edges or up his back? In most cases, the leg gussets don't fit snugly around their legs if the diaper is too big.

My LO is nearly 8 months, weighs 22lbs and still wears size 3. He wears size 4 too as 22lbs falls into both sizes. I believe size 3 usually starts at 15 or 16lbs, depending on the brand.

I do prefer pampers for my boys; Huggies tended to leak a bit more in my experience. Different for all babies though!! :) Good luck!

I found huggies leaked all the time with my other 2 so now stick to pampers

We had a case of newborn huggies given to us and found that they leaked terribly.. He did go up to size 1 very shortly after, perhaps they were too small. We do really well with pampers swaddlers.

I've struggled with leaking from huggies and pampers from day one but I think maybe ur little one is still too small! My Evie was in size 2 for a long while and she's 10month now and only just gone up to size 4! X

He is still too small!

If he is only 10 lbs he should not be in size 3 diapers. He should be in size 1's. My LO is 5 months old and still too small for size 3's, but wears them overnight. She is 13lbs and wears size 2's during the day. I haven't had a leak yet!

On both huggies and pampers size 3's says from 9lb to 20lb the leaking is up his back at both sides, he's only 10lb now so I dnt think that he needs the next size up,I've got pampers size 3s in the garage so I will try them, if they leak then mayb sizes 3's are just too big and I will go back to the 2's for a bit. Thanx, this is first time I've used huggies at all xx

I've never really had problems with Huggies  (I hate pampers... I found they smelt like chemicals before even being put on, and then at the slightest amount of pee you could smell it a mile off. Not nice!). The only time I've had wee leaks from Huggies is when he's been in his Jumperoo for a while without having a fresh nappy on just before going in, had one on for a long time over night (he slept 9pm-8am last night and was soaked this morning. He normally has a nappy change at 5am) or if MIL puts them on :dohh: she doesn't do them up tight enough lol. Poo leaks are quite rare too. The only time we have poo leaks is, again, in the jumperoo (I guess it just gets smushed with all the jumping...) And if he has a particularly bad case of exploding bum lol.

Maybe give it a couple more weeks before trying the size 3s again. Harrison was about 11lb I think before I started putting him in 3s. Although I guess it depends on the shape of your baby too  long and thin babies might have more of a problem with leaks than chunkier babies (although there's no proof behind that statement, just a guess! lol)

Also my little man is not a chubby baby so still has really skinny legs (was only 6lb 1 born) so maybe they aren't getting a good enough seal around his legs xx

That is what I thought but size 1's are really too small for him and the size 3's have from 9lb to 20lb so when I ran out of 2's I thought they wud b ok. Never mind will just have to take a trip back to the supermarket and get some size 2's again. Thank u xx

Its weird because we used NZ/AUS Huggies since LO was born and they were brilliant and never had a single leak. We were given some import Huggies and they were nowhere near as good. LO was in the size 3 and although they seemed to fit perfectly fine they just didn't work out for us. When he was big enough to go in the Size 4's (we still had a lot) they were much better.

I bought loads a Huggies when I was pregnant but I hate them!
They leak poo every time. My LO is still in new baby size nappies, she is 5 weeks old and was born 6lb 3oz, not sure what she weighs now as the last time she was weighed a few weeks ago she was the same as her birth weight.

I hate them but I have rather a few to get through.
I prefer Pampers and they keep LO very dry even with a full (pee) nappy.

If you really cannot get on with them you could always try selling the nappies on. gumtree or a facebook group for local sales might be the way to go. I bet you could get practically what you buy them for in the shops.

Its not so much the weight as the shape of your baby's legs. What shape would you say he is? Maybe buy some more size 2 for now and try again with these in a couple of weeks or so.

We tend to use pampers at night and a cheaper brand in the day. Seems to be working for us.

Me too, like 400 of them arrgghh!!! I will just keep swapping and changing them I think until they are gone, I just hate them, never had a problem with pampers xx

He's got little skinny legs, not ur usual little chubby baby legs, he's rather long and I think that's the problem, hopefully when he's a bit bigger he will b able to fill them out better andi can get rid of them then xx

I had the same leaking problem with my little boy, but in size 1's when he was 2-3 weeks old. I actually emailed Huggie's through their contact us form on their website to see if I could be doing something wrong as I'm a first time mum and couldn't work out why they seemed to leak especially if he wore it for a longer period of time (e.g 3-4 hours during a long sleep he would always have a wet back when I picked him up).
They replied to apologise and suggested that without seeing the nappies they couldn't confirm what was causing the issue but that they'd send a voucher for a free pack. A couple of days later I received £15 worth of vouchers to use in their products (Andrex / Huggies).
Some friends suggested to me that they found Huggies best with their girls and Pampers with their boys. I've still got some Huggies to use up as also stockpiled some size 1, 2 and 3 before he was born, but I tend now to just use those in the day time when he's awake more - I prefer Pampers now.
I've not had so many leaky issues recently - I think perhaps it is also linked to the shape of baby - my boy is quite long and thin, not chubby, but since he's been at the higher end of the uggested weight boundary for the nappy size he's not had so many problems.

Consider emailing Huggies with your genuine concerns - you might get some vouchers too :)

I started off with huggies but they constantly leaked & I was always changing Ethan.
Swapped to pampers & havent had one leak! xxx

I just sent huggies an email, let's see if they get back to me xx
