So my LO is 7 weeks oldand feeding every 2-3 hours about 4ozs. T he HV recommended I switch to hungry baby a couple of weeks ago but it has made no difference at all. He will someties go 4 hours but not often.

I have tried giving him 5ozs to see if that makes him go a bit longer but most f the time he stops bang on 4ozs.

I thought hungry baby was supposed to work :dohh:

It does with some. With my LO, it did not. So I just persevered with the Stage 1 milk. Try to be patient. It shouldn't be long before he outgrows the 2-3hour feeds. Some parents practise 4 hour feeding, which may suit you. I just fed on demand.

Much sympathy though because those first few months can be very draining.

Don't worry my LO was still feeding 1-2 hourly at 7 weeks (and at nights) he slowly but surely started dropping bottles as he got older. It's really hard but just keep going, ignore the side of the carton. You can't overfeed don't worry x

I'm amazed you HV advised this, my lo was still feeding like this until she was around 15 weeks, Shes only just taking 6oz every 3.5hrs.

Its tiring but you cant over feed a baby, is he sleeping well during the night? Is that why she suggested it?

.x.

How come she advised you to switch? Jessica is taking the same as your LO every 2 - 3 hours on c and g comfort. Is this not normal?!

I don't know why she told me to switch! She asked me how he was feeding and at the time it was every 2 hours so she said why don't you switch to hungry baby??

Is my HV rubbish??!!

she most prob told u 2switch because at 7 weeks ur lo shouldnt be feeding every 2-3 hours, should be going every 4-5 hours. i put my lo onto hungry baby. it has worked for me. but ur lo could be going through a growth spurt. stick with the hungry baby bacuse it hasnot got ne extra calories, and hopefully when the growth spurt is over ( normally at 8 weeks) ur lo will go longer. it was the best thing ive done with my lo and he slept all the night last nite, and im sure he wouldnt have if he was still on stage 1 milk. hth. x

I'm also amazed your HV recommended this. At this stage 2-3 hours is normal, and the quantities aren't excessive either. The only thing that's going to make your LO go longer between feeds is time, and getting a bit older!

kacey drank 6 oz every 3 hours (at most) from 5 weeks till she was 18 weeks. I switched to HB milk as well at 8 weeks. There tummys as still small so i just went with what she wanted. She now has 7oz every 4 hours. She has been sleeping 12 hours at night simce 6 weeks so i think she was just filling up

Lillies on cow and gate hungrier babby milk stage 2. At 5weeks she just guzzled whatever i gave her and it just didnt satisfy her- If i let her carry on she'd of most probably drank 9oz every hour. I couldnt carry on so i weaned her off the stage 1 onto this. Its a life saver. she now goes 3-4hourly sometimes 5hourly! instead of 1hourly! Be patient with them hun. Lillie goes through the night for 9hours on this milk its a super saver x

My LO was looking for feeds every hour and a half, I switched him onto HB milk and he seems much more content. He is still only taking between 3 - 4 oz which is what's recommended. Through the night he takes a bottle aroung half elevenish, and only wakes once for a feed now.
