You can use it from birth onwards but I think most HV's try to get you to hang on as long as you can before starting it, it can make some babies constipated.
I think most people start it if their LO's are feeding very often, they are supposed to take the same amount but go longer between feeds. ( I think )
I've never put my LO on it and just carried on feeding on demand, he has got himself into a routine all by himself and doesn't drink overly much now x
My midwife said it CSM be used from birth but suggests only using it fir a night feed! My lo feeds every three hours or less and is very hungry all the time! I've used it once so far do t k ow if it made a dif he slept a extra hour! X
We used it from 6 weeks as Esmé wanted a full bottle every two hours. She's still on 32oz a day of hungry milk, and feeding every 4 ish hours throughout the day, but sleeps til 6am. We didn't have the constipation issues, and used Aptamil. x
Thanks for the replies. Am going to consider it in a few weeks. Max has gone from feeding every 3.5 hrs to 1.5hrs. He still only takes 60-90ml at each go. I'd love him to take more and therefore last longer

I have the same problem with my boy who was 8 weeks yesterday, I put him on the hungry milk on friday and have noticed a difference but he can sometimes wake up & want to snack which I got him into the habit of doing without even realizing. He had 4oz last night at 9pm ish and didn't wake until 2am! BIG difference compared to the 2-3 hours he had been waking just to take 2oz to fill himself up abit then wake another 2 hours for the same (snacking).
