I've heard of this happening quite a few times but I never thought that I would hear the words come out of my husbands mouth immediately following BD..
Just two nights ago right as we finished up he laid back, exhailed and said "There's your baby!" I laughed and asked, "Oh really? Do you think this is our lucky one?" I am currently on my post miscarriage cycle from our second loss, I haven't had much fertile signs and my cycle is now running past 36 days. All bfn tests. Anyways, my husband stretches out and says, "Yes, you are going to have a baby. I know it!"
Okay, so granted that this could be a combo of our wishful thinking, having 2 miscarriages in less than 4 months we are still pretty nervous about what may happen with a 3rd try but are both more than ready to bring a baby into this world!
BUT!!! I have heard stories both online and from friends and strangers about how their husband (or themselves if it is a guy) predicted their successful pregnancy on the exact night that they would conceive!!
The first time I had heard this was years back while talking to an ex's step mom. I don't know how we started talking about her pregnancies but I am glad that we did because it gives me faith. She told me that her and her (at the time) husband we trying to prevent a baby from happening. They used bcp, spermicide and vaginal sponges all time to prevent this. Well one day they were really in the mood so they didn't use the sponges but still used the spermicide. When they finished, her husband told her "I think we just made a baby!" She refused to believe him until a few weeks later she was hit was strong morning sickness and didn't even need a test to tell her that she was pregnant.
The second person I actually know is my bosses brother. He actually just brought this up yesterday which brought back my memories of all the times before that I had heard this.
He said that he and his wife (at the time) had been trying for 18 months and then they just stopped trying but still weren't having luck. One night he told her that he was going to get her pregnant that very night. So they dtd and then low and behold they got their positive test and went on to have their first son!
I've read stories online about husbands/partners predicting pregnancy but it makes me wonder if it is just coincidence that they got pregnant or if there is merit to this...
Anyone have their own stories or ideas of this happening?
