Hello everyone....

After a year of ttc, we were finally referred to the fertility specialist in August of this year. She went through all my tests I have had done, including smears, cervix erosion testing ( as had a bit of irregular bleeding in June), hormone blood tests & scans of my womb. She said although the scans showed polycysts on my only ovary ( had 1 removed as a baby because it apparently had cysts on) it appears that I am ovulating fine so next time I come on I need to phone this number & they will book me in to get my fallopian tube checked that week. Im very nervous about the precedure....I know I prob shouldnt be as have had my 'bits' on show so much lately with all the other tests lol!!! Can anyone tell me more about this....apparently Im not going to be put to sleep & they go through my cervix...this sounds painful!!! Im also so worried about the results as the tube they are going to look as is my only tube, if its damaged beyond repair or blocked what happens then???? is that the end of the rd for us? :( I have a 4 year old daughter & we conceived after 6 mths & so took it for granted! Just didnt think anything of it..now I realise how lucky we were! So many people around me are preg & it just seems to get harder & harder each mth. My husband has just been told his sperm are low count & motility so I dont really feel like I can get upset around him as he is starting to blame his self too......he couldnt talk to me at first as was so upset....spose it didnt help with the specialist wording it 'you have slow swimmers...thats prob the cause of your wife not getting preg!' His sis is due any day & Im dreading family occassions when we all have to get together as I get so upset seeing other preg people or new mums with their babies.

I am having this done in October and really scared too.. I been TTC for about 15 months when my HSG arrives and not had a sniff of a BFP.. i do have pcos but mild and gyno wouldnt give me anything until this HSG was done first!!

Good luck xx

Hi girls, is this where they insert a small catheter through the cervix and put some saline and dye into your uterus to check your tubes and everything else?

I just found it uncomfortable. When they inserted the small catheter and put the saline into the uterus, I got cramps similar to period pain. The whole test lasted about 15 mins, but I had the HSG at the same time. I can feel your worry and concern, but hopefully they will find out whats happening and bring you one step closer to your goal of a BFP. Try and take it one step at a time hun. I understand the heartache of being around ladies/family who are pregnant or just had a bubs :hugs: hang in there.

Beauty, hang in there also...it will give the FS some information he/she will need in order to work out which way to go to help you along on your journey to a BFP.
