I am about to have surgery on my remaining tube to check its status basically.
I am concerned I have hydrosalpinx in my remaining tube as I have had an ectopic pregnancy (due to PID and endo) and I have this awful pain which I have had for 11months in my left side where my ovary and tube are. My remaining tube is in my left side. The reason why I had a scan which showed the ectopic pregnancy was because I had pain in my left side (despite tube in my right having the ectopic pregnacy) The pain is getting worse and worse and now I need medication to help with the pain. I have had scans which show nothing. Its two weeks until my lap to check my tube. Just wondering if this is the same or similar to anyone that has had hydrosalpinx or has the hydrosalpinx been a complete surprise when it was discovered?

I don't know if I will be of any help sharing what I am going through. But they did see that I had a hydrosalpinx tube on the left on a scan/ultrasound and confirmed it in an hsg. Now I have to go for a lap and dye to remove my left tube and they will determine if my right tube has it too.

I just recently found out about all of this, but I too have had severe pain for many many years to the extent that I need medication and precriptions. Doctors never did any investigations for me they just prescribed pain management.

I wish you all the best and hope that it isn't hydrosalpinx.

Thank you so much for your reply Blue. I really don't want to loose my only tube which is why I guess I am worried so much about all this pain I have in that region. It also hasn't suddenly arrived since my EP but rather been there for almost a year now. It is also much worse around O time, AF and having bowels open.
I so don't want to loose the tube but I am trying to be positive if its gone we have answers and can start down the IVF channel rather then keep trying naturally with little chance of conception occuring then start IVF in a year or so when we show naturally conception isn't occuring. Hoping its not Hydrosalphinx but my instincts tell me it is.

I know that my doc said probably only one of my tubes will be removed and then she would like to try iui but that my right tube although it isn't blocked or even hydrosalpinx might be ruined on the inside from my other tube being hydrosalpinx (and that the finger like things inside might be destroyed) in which case I am at high risk for ectopic AND so ivf will likely be my best option.

Keep us posted........do you have a journal?

Yes I do. I linked it to my signature this morning. Loving somewhere to have to write it down just hoping eventually it can go on to be a pregnancy journal lol
Thanks for your info. I guess I will know more on the 19th when I have the surgery.
